The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering projects to time, budget, and scope, with a keen understanding of managing dependencies within a broader programme context. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, distributed teams and stakeholders.\nWhat you will do:\nProject Planning & Execution:\nPlan, execute, and close projects within assigned programmes, adhering to established methodologies and Transformation Office governance frameworks;\nDevelop detailed project plans, including scope definition, dependencies, resource allocation, and realistic timelines;\nDefine and manage project budgets, track expenditure, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints;\nMonitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed;\nChampion the adoption of technology and AI to aid delivery, introducing efficiencies and use to add control to day-to-day delivery. \nStakeholder Management:\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, and external partners;\nCommunicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to the Programme Manager and relevant stakeholders;\nFacilitate workshops and meetings to drive project progress and resolve issues.\nRisk & Issue Management:\nProactively identify, assess, and manage project-level risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies;\nEscalate critical issues to the Programme Manager in a timely manner, providing clear recommendations for resolution alongside other options considered.\nQuality & Change Management:\nEnsure project deliverables meet defined quality standards and stakeholder expectations;\nManage project change requests, assessing their impact on scope, schedule, and budget, and securing necessary approvals.\nReporting & Documentation:\nPrepare and submit regular project reports, providing accurate and timely updates on progress, budget, and risks.\nMaintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and decision logs.\nEnsure project closure activities are completed efficiently, including lessons learned and handover of deliverables.\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience as a Project Manager of projects within complex, large-scale Programmes of work;\nDemonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within a programme framework;\nStrong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and tools;\nProven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resources effectively;\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various teams;\nProactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes;\nAbility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;\nExperience in the marine, engineering, technology, or other similarly complex industries is highly desirable;\nRelevant professional certifications (e.g., AgilePM, PRINCE2, CSM) are highly advantageous;\nBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Project Management) or equivalent practical experience.\nBenefits\nSalary for this position: Up to £65,000 per annum","description_format":"text","description_chars":4684,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-23T14:30:57Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":20,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":86357,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/ocean-infinity-project-manager","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/ocean-infinity-project-manager.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T09:20:31Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
