This is a mixed role which includes assisting the Support Analyst to resolve more complex issues as they are reported, as well as completing some Systems Administration tasks, both in-person and remotely. Additionally, you will develop systems administration skills so that there is cover support available for critical systems, particularly in virtualisation, networking and databases.\nWorking between the Macraes mine site (2 days per week) and the Dunedin city office, this role works a 9-day fortnight structure of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 7:00am - 4:30pm, daily.\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:\nWork primarily as a Macraes Level 2 resource but also support and provide cover for our Level 1 and Level 3 team members.\nDevelop knowledge in supporting a range of key systems with a goal to become the primary support resource for some of these systems.\nAssist with completing internal and operations-led project work.\nAssist the Support Analyst to assess, complete or re-assign tasks as they come in through the ticketing system and other methods.\nConfigure and install new systems and IT hardware for the Macraes mine.\nWork with the Support Analyst to ensure that Incidents and Requests are completed within a reasonable timeframe.\nBe the primary in-person support resource when the Support Analyst is off-site.\nParticipate in the Macraes IT after hours on-call roster.\nAssist the team with maintaining a reliable fleet of IT hardware on site, including identifying hardware in need of proactive replacement and performing basic repairs.\nAssist the Senior IT Officer with supporting the site IT network, database administration and production systems.\nMaintain and support the site virtualised and physical servers, in cooperation with the rest of the team.\nAssist the IT Supervisor with gathering project progress information to feed up to the Senior Leadership Team.\n A Tertiary-level degree or similar qualification in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.\nFull and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.\nFull New Zealand working rights / unrestricted working Visa is required for this position.\nExperience:\n2+ years working within a team-based IT support environment.\nExperience supporting Windows Server and Linux physical and virtualised servers would be an advantage.\nExperience supporting a Cisco-based IT network would be an advantage.\nExperience supporting SQL Server databases would be an advantage.\n Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.\n9-day fortnight roster - 5 on, 2 off, 4 on, 3 off, 7:00am - 4:30pm with 2 days per week based at the Macraes mine site and 3 days based in the Dunedin office.\nCompetitive salary.\nDiscounts on retail and services.\nFree Southern Cross Healthcare / Life Insurance.\nMonthly health and wellbeing allowance.\nLiving Our Values recognition program.\nPhysiotherapist sessions.\nStudy assistance.\nAccess to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP).\nExceptional working environment where people are valued and respected.\n**Applications close 14 November 2026 .
