There are few residential mines in the world in such an amazing location. Our Open Pit Tecchnical Services team are hiring an additional Mining Engineer as we continue to grow production. The role provides professional mining engineering services to the open cut operation at Macraes.\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:\nProduce and distribute engineering designs for the safe and efficient extraction of material.\nCreate stage designs that meet the budget and operational requirements.\nMake design modifications to pits, dumps, and roads that will improve cashflow and operational efficiency as required.\nDesign blast masters to optimise mining sequence.\nDesign drill patterns to meet operational needs and optimise fragmentation.\nAssess pit, dump, and road design options and costs, and prepare set out plans for construction as required.\nDesign waste rock stacks and rehabilitation that meet or exceed best practice guidelines.\nDevelop dewatering strategies for existing and new projects.\nProduce achievable weekly production schedules in line with the monthly forecast.\nLead the daily planning meeting to coordinate efficient execution of production schedules.\nProduce a monthly forecast that considers current operational conditions and budget requirements.\nEvaluate and advise on the most efficient haulage routes.\nMonitor and report on schedule variances to inform planning assumptions.\nAssist Geotechnical Engineer with pit wall and ground stability monitoring and reporting as required.\nComply with all safety requirements and observe all company policies and procedures.\n University degree in Mining Engineering, or equivalent.\nFull and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.\nB-Grade Quarry Manager’s CoC, or ability to obtain one preferred.\nTwo years’ experience working in open pit mining or underground mining.\nExperience using CAD software in a production environment.\nHigh degree of computer literacy, including experience in mine planning software.
