A recent consent for the Waihi North Project, a new mine to be developed 6km north of the existing operation has provided a long-term extension of mine life providing our ~400 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.\n To Supervise, plan, coordinate and complete various operational, landscaping and property maintenance tasks alongside the Supervisor - Construction in a safe manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions.\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities\nSite Services\nLiaising with OGNZ Property Manager and Contractors as required.\nProvide a leadership role to direct reports and external contractors.\nRun pre-shift safety meetings with teams as required.\nAssist with developing service and supply contracts as required.\nSupervise and co-ordinating landscaping and gardening services contractors (tree felling and general maintenance).\nAssisting Site Services team to manage external contractors and manage priorities on a daily basis.\nCo-ordinating waste management and disposal services.\nCo-ordinating fire system services contractors and ensure inspections are completed as required (Monthly/Quarterly/Annually).\nCo-ordinating and undertaking building compliance inspections. Ensuring company building compliance is maintained.\nProviding project management & maintenance of company properties as directed.\nTo Develop and update relevant SOP’s and other specific documentation.\nTo Maintain relationships with contractors to ensure that the requirements of OceanaGold are achieved.\nTo Minimise costs and maximise benefits to the Company by contractors working on company assets when required.\nMonitoring departments INX tasks/actions and ensure tasks/actions are prioritised and actioned accordingly.\nCommunication with lessee’s.\nLandscaping and Maintenance\nSupervising and coordinating maintenance and landscaping of residential properties, site and project work areas:\nMowing/spraying/weed-eating/pest control - OceanaGold commercial, residential and domestic properties.\nMowing/spraying/path maintenance - parks (Slevin Park, Black Hill, parts Pit Rim).\nContractor supervision.\nTree felling, pruning/small tree removal.\nRubbish removal.\nNew property overhaul (scrub-bar, rubbish, etc).\nMaintenance of walkways managed by the company.\nFertilising and Mulching.\nAttend pre-shift safety and tool-box safety meetings.\nReport all incidents and near misses and workplace hazards.\nEnsure relevant fixed and mobile equipment is maintained, ensuring effective and efficient equipment operation in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.\nBuild and maintain effective relationships in order to retain a high-performance workforce through engagement, communication and motivation.\nEnsure appropriate professional development or training plans are in place to meet safety and process requirements and to harness the skills, competencies and potential that exists within the team.\n Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.\nExperience:\nIntermediate level skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.\nExperience with integrated purchasing/inventory systems, preferably PRONTO or similar.\nPractical use of various items of mobile plant, equipment and hand tools.\nAt least 5 years’ experience in project management or contractor management role required, preferably in a mining, engineering or construction environment.\nSafety Conscious and Positive Work Attitude.\n WHAT'S ON OFFER:\n2 Year Fixed Term Contract (external candidate) | Secondment (internal candidate) \nResidential role - live and work in Waihi, the gateway to the stunning Coromandel region\n9-day fortnight roster (enjoy a long weekend, every second week)\nHours of work: 6:30am to 4:00pm\nFree Gym Membership \nCareer Development Opportunities\nLiving Our Values recognition program\nAccess to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP)\nExceptional working environment where people are valued and respected\nYOU MATTER: OceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
