Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity - apply now and take the first step towards a rewarding career at OceanaGold Waihi.\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:\nProvide assistance to the underground mining team so that budgeted development and production targets are achieved.\nOperational:\n8-week training programme (all dayshifts) consisting of:\nUnderground Induction and orientation.\nEmergency procedures.\nNipper duties and relevant SOP’s.\nTruck operating SOP’s and practical skills.\nRole may include, but not limited to the following tasks:\nDeliver personnel and equipment to job sites and returns surplus supplies to stores.\nOffsides and assists Jumbo Operators to achieve targets.\nAssist with the collection of production samples.\nAssist with face set up.\nUnderground housekeeping.\nAssist with mine pump maintenance and installation.\nPerform pre-start and shut down checks on all equipment to ensure units are kept clean and in a serviceable condition.\nLoad and transport ore from chutes/loader to tipple.\nHose down hang ups in chutes.\nKeep loading area clean and ensure spillage is cleaned up on tramming drive.\nOperate equipment by day and night.\nUnderstand underground mine layout and ground conditions.\nOther:\nAssist with the training and development of other mine operators by providing on-the-job information, mentoring and guidance to ensure they are operating safely.\nCarry out all other duties that may reasonably be required.\n The successful candidate(s) will require the following:\n18+ years of age.\nFull class 1 Driver License (ability to drive manual vehicles is essential).\nA good level of fitness.\nFirst Aid Certificate (preferred).\nAbility to pass all pre-employment background checks including a medical and functional fitness assessment as well as drug and alcohol testing.\nExperience\nPrevious experience operating equipment in mining environment is an advantage but not essential.\nReliable and committed to working rostered shifts and maintaining a strong work ethic.\nGood communication skills.\nHigh commitment to safety.\nKnowledge of equipment operation.\nMechanical aptitude.\nInitiative - ability to work with minimal supervision.\n As part of our commitment to supporting local communities, applications from local residents are encouraged.
