As an intern with our Austin Software group, you’ll work to assist in development of our autonomous underwater vehicle development program doing software development, algorithm development, simulation and vehicle operation/testing. Tasks would generally be software development, algorithm development, simulation, and documentation.\nAssist in preparing presentations, articles, and technical papers.\nInterface inside and outside a meeting setting with project team members and clients.\nTesting software remotely, in simulation and on the designated vehicle.\n REQUIRED\nPhD/Masters candidate at an accredited University, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or related field\nExperience with Microsoft Office\nExperience with C++\nFoundational knowledge of robotics/control systems including coordinates frames, kinematics, state estimation, guidance/navigation/control, 3D path-planning, obstacle-avoidance and SLAM\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.\nDESIRED\nAbility to work in a high-performance team on projects with constantly shifting schedules\nExperience with image processing, computer vision, sensor fusion, point-cloud processing, or camera/sonar data\nExperience with simulation, integration testing, or field testing of robotic, marine, or autonomous vehicles\nExperience implementing or evaluating 3D path-planning, motion-planning, obstacle-avoidance, SLAM, or autonomous-vehicle algorithms\nWorking Conditions\nThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.\nAlmost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night \nOccasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place\nWork surface is stable (flat)\nPhysical Activity/Requirements\n.\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
