Possible straight time overtime and a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) **\n The GN&C Engineer will:\nDevelop and evaluate safety-critical flight software\nDevelop, integrate, and test GN&C algorithms\nUtilize MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode skills to update GN&C Flight Software\nUtilize Python & C/C++ skills to analyze and test GN&C Flight Software\nValidate and Verify GN&C algorithms and requirements\nProvide recommendations for improvements of flight software, its processes and procedures\nPerform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software\nPerform other duties as required.\n Required\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school with experience in the field or related area. \nSignificant knowledge of GN&C\nExperience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations\nProficiency with C/C++ and Python\nFamiliarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees.\nPreferred\nMaster’s degree in engineering and 3 years or more of experience in the field or in a related area; or a PhD. in engineering or in a related field\nSignificant experience with C, C++, and Python\nSignificant experience with MATLAB including Simulink, Stateflow, and Autocode\nSafety and flight-critical embedded software development\nExperience with source code control and continuous integration\nAgile software development\nExperience in the following flight software specialty areas:GN&C software development\nSoftware process and procedure development\nSoftware Integration and Build Management\n\nExperience with Kalman filters, Neural Networks, UDU factorization and/or advanced smoothers\nKnowledge of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning\nExperience with TRICK/JEOD simulation architecture.\nProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.\nMust be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nManagement has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.\nEssential Functions\nWork Environment - Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nPhysical Requirements - Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
