The candidate must be able to read dials and displays, compare results with specifications and record test/inspection data, confer with engineers, technicians and production personnel. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform dimensional checks and visual verifications or raw material, hardware, fabricated and machined parts and assemblies to acceptance criteria. Document non-conformance reports/material. Ability to work with minimal instruction and supervision.\n Functions\nESSENTIAL\nResponsible for performing 1st piece, in process & final inspection on materials, products and assemblies.\n\nAbility to read drawings, comprehend specifications and tolerances, read dial indicators and digital gages, compare results with specifications and record test data, confer with engineers, technicians and production personnel as necessary.\n\nDemonstrates advanced ability to perform dimensional checks and visual verifications of fabricated and machined parts to acceptance criteria.\n\nUses measurement, test equipment and functional gages to determine if product meets all stated requirements.\n\nValidates the quality of machined and fabricated parts and assemblies in terms of dimensional accuracy and visual verification according to acceptance criteria.\n\nAbility to review data supplied with material and parts to acceptance criteria, such as: dimensional reports, traceability reports and certificates of conformity.\n\nApplies a range of inspection techniques and interprets standards autonomously.\n\nDisplays competent professional communication and interpersonal skills when exchanging information with peers and supervisors.\n\nEnsures in date calibrated measuring equipment is used for performing inspections.\n\nFill out nonconforming material reports and other required records of inspection and tests.\n\nADDITIONAL\nAdditional duties as assigned.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\n\nReporting Relationships\nReports to Quality Control Manager.\n REQUIRED\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n3 - 5 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience including the following:\nCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection with programming experience\n\nGeneral mechanical inspection with calipers, micrometers, etc.\n\nGeometric tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5\n\nMS Office (Word, Excel, Email)\n\nBlueprint reading skills.\n\nExperience working directly with fabrication and machinists’ craftspeople.\n\nKnowledge of basic technical mathematics; inspection, measuring, and test equipment; materials and processes; inspection technology; and basic statistics.\n\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.\n\nAbility to obtain a government security clearance.\n\nDESIRED\nWorking knowledge of PCDMIS software and programming\n\nWorking knowledge of Inspection Arms (Romer or similar)\n\nWorking knowledge of Laser Tracker Systems (Leica or similar)\n\nWorking Conditions\nThis position is considered SHOP WORK which is characterized as follows.\nGenerally work performed indoors (80%) and occasional outdoors (20%).
