This role oversees maintenance staff, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and supports critical infrastructure required for patient care, including emergency power and life safety systems.Education & Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred\nLicensed electrician (Journeyman or Master preferred, depending on state requirements)\n5-10+ years of electrical experience, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory role\nExperience in healthcare or large commercial/industrial facilities strongly preferred\nTechnical Skills\nStrong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and emergency power systems\nFamiliarity with healthcare compliance standards and critical environment operations\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals\nExperience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)\nSoft Skills\nLeadership and team management\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities\nEffective communication with staff, leadership, and contractors\nAbility to prioritize in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment\nLeadership & Supervision\nSupervise, train, and schedule a team of electricians and electrical technicians\nAssign daily work orders and preventive maintenance tasks\nProvide technical guidance and enforce safety protocols\nParticipate in hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions\nElectrical Systems Management\nOversee maintenance and operation of:Medium- and low-voltage distribution systems\nEmergency generators and backup power systems (UPS, ATS)\nLighting systems (interior, exterior, and critical care lighting)\nFire alarm and life safety electrical components\n\nEnsure continuous operation of critical hospital systems with minimal downtime\nPreventive & Corrective Maintenance\nDevelop and manage preventive maintenance programs\nRespond to electrical failures and coordinate rapid repairs\nMaintain accurate maintenance logs, testing records, and compliance documentation\nRegulatory Compliance\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, Joint Commission, OSHA)\nSupport inspections and audits by regulatory agencies\nMaintain documentation for life safety and electrical system testing\nProject & Vendor Coordination\nCoordinate electrical work for renovations, expansions, and capital projects\nReview electrical plans and specifications\nManage contractors and ensure work meets facility standards\nTrack project progress, budgets, and timelines\nSafety & Risk Management\nEnforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures\nConduct safety meetings and risk assessments\nEnsure proper use of PPE and safe work practices\nInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actions\nOther related duties as required.
