The role focuses on platform reliability, observability, secure and scalable Azure infrastructure, deployment practices, and operational resilience.\n\nResponsibilities\nBuild, maintain and optimise deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring consistent, reliable and secure software delivery\nDesign, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services to support secure, reliable and scalable application delivery\nIdentify, analyse and resolve platform, infrastructure and deployment weaknesses, driving continuous improvement in reliability, performance and operational efficiency\nDevelop and maintain complex PowerShell and Azure PowerShell (Az module) scripts to support platform administration, operational management and cloud service reliability\nCollaborate with architecture, development, security and operations teams to establish and promote the adoption of SRE practices, improving observability, monitoring, service reliability, incident management and operational excellence\nDeploy and support multi-tier Azure environments using OpenTofu modules, ensuring consistency across development, test and production environments\nMaintain and enhance engineering tooling that supports software delivery, platform operations, monitoring and service management\nSupport the testing, validation and deployment of new platform capabilities, assessing operational impact and ensuring production readiness\nParticipate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations, lead or contribute to blameless post-incident reviews, perform root cause analysis and implement measures to prevent recurring incidents\nEnsure cloud infrastructure, deployments and supporting platform services are secure, resilient, compliant and aligned with organisational standards and best practices\nManage production deployments for Azure App Services, utilising deployment slots, swap operations and blue/green upgrade strategies to achieve zero-downtime releases\nDeploy, scale and manage containerised microservices using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps\nConfigure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights to establish and track Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for business-critical applications\n\nSkills\nKnowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices\nExperience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure\nExperience with observability and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana, Prometheus or equivalent technologies\nExperience with containers, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure App Services\nUnderstanding of incident management, root cause analysis, service reliability metrics and continuous service improvement\nExperience with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, OpenTofu or Scalr\nKnowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python or similar\nUnderstanding of secure cloud engineering practices, deployment strategies and production readiness\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Fabric, Refold and MCP Gateway\nExperience with advanced cloud operations, platform resilience and service recovery strategies\nKnowledge of techniques for improving operational efficiency, reducing recurring incidents and strengthening service reliability\nExperience defining and applying SLIs, SLOs and error budgets in production environments\n\nBenefits\nRemote work\n\nCompany Overview\nOctave Systems sells the highest quality, top-rated 3D Printing equipment.
