The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.The Manager, Event Security is responsible for overseeing security operations for events at Honda Center and other OCVIBE venues, helping ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, performers, and assets. This role involves coordinating event security staffing and logistics, supervising event security personnel, responding to and addressing incidents, communicating with management as needed across relevant OCVIBE departments, and collaborating with promoters, tour security, and NHL representatives (if applicable) officials before, during and after scheduled events. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring events are staffed with appropriate number of personnel from public safety agencies (law enforcement and emergency responders). The Manager works closely with internal stakeholders to implement security strategies and measures in delivering the highest standards of safety and security while creating a fun, inviting, and memorable guest experience.\nResponsibilities\nEvent Security Operations\nPlan, implement, and oversee security operations for events, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment\nPre-Event checklist: ensure all critical components of pre-event assessment are examined and in good order\nDevelop and execute security strategies based on event-specific needs, attendance, and risk assessments\nManage event security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance monitoring\nEnsure security checkpoints, bag screenings, metal detection, and credentialing procedures are properly executed\nServe as the primary security liaison with event organizers, promoters, and touring personnel to align security protocols to prevent and address potential threats through effective deployment of personnel and processes.\nIncident Response & Risk Management\nMonitor event activities to identify potential security risks and immediately implement interventions / preventive or corrective measures\nEnsure team members are trained and briefed on Emergency Plans\nManage emergency situations as needed, including crowd control / management, medical incidents, evacuations\nRespond to and manage security incidents, disturbances, and emergencies in a prompt, professional and effective manner\nEnsure incidents requiring documentation are documented with Incident Report.\nCoordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical personnel to ensure proper emergency response procedures are followed\nLead post-event debriefs to analyze security operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions\nMaintain accurate records of incidents, reports, and security logs for internal documentation and compliance\nTeam Leadership & Coordination\nSupervise and provide direction to event security staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and protocols\nAssign duties, monitor performance, and provide support throughout the event\nConduct pre-event briefings to ensure security personnel understand event specific procedures, protocols, and any relevant topics\nCollaborate with the Senior Manager, Security Operations, and other venue management teams to align security efforts with overall event objectives\nWork closely with other departments, such as Guest Services, Operations, and Risk Management, to ensure a seamless and safe guest experience\nCompliance & Security Standards\nEnsure compliance with all venue security policies, local regulations, and industry best practices\nStay up to date on security threats, trends, and technologies to enhance event security strategies\nOversee and enforce safety protocols, including crowd management, ejections, and emergency evacuation plans\nEnsure all staff receive initial and recurrent training and ensure the ongoing documentation of training\nGuest Experience / Customer Service & Communication\nMaintain a visible and approachable presence before, during, and after events to address complaints, create a welcoming environment, and communicate with guests, staff, and promoter / client representatives\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 years of experience in event security, venue security, or a related field\nMinimum 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role within a security or public safety environment\nExperience working with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other operating departments (e.g. Guest Services, Facilities, Parking)\nStrong understanding of event security operations, crowd management, and emergency response protocols\nWorking knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulations applicable to large venues and event\nExcellent leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising security staff\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, including guests, performers, executives, and law enforcement\nProficiency in using security technologies, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and incident management software\nAble to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure in high-stress situations\nAble to assess risks and implement effective security strategies for events of varying sizes\nAble to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required based on event schedules\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience\nEducation -
