The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.The Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, maintenance, and ongoing support of Microsoft 365 services and enterprise IT infrastructure across OCVIBE, Honda Center, and affiliated entities. This position requires strong technical proficiency and the ability to independently manage systems, deploy new technologies, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and maintain secure, reliable, and efficient infrastructure in accordance with established industry standards and organizational requirements.\nReporting to the Manager of Systems Engineering, the Systems Engineer works closely with senior infrastructure personnel, IT leadership, and cross-functional technical teams to support critical business systems and live-event operations. This position is responsible for executing system installations, upgrades, patching, preventative maintenance, and infrastructure improvements while exercising sound technical judgment and ensuring minimal operational disruption.\nResponsibilities\nSystems Engineering and Infrastructure Management\nImplement, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related technologies.\nAdminister Microsoft identity and access management platforms, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, user accounts, groups, permissions, authentication, and identity synchronization.\nInstall, configure, patch, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, applications, HPE hardware, and supporting enterprise infrastructure.\nAdminister and support VMware virtualization environments, including virtual machine provisioning, configuration, resource allocation, performance monitoring, snapshots, and datastore management.\nSupport enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems, including monitoring backup operations, resolving failures, performing restores, and participating in recovery testing.\nAdminister and support endpoint management and security platforms, including Microsoft Intune, Tanium, software deployment, compliance monitoring, and system remediation.\n Diagnose and resolve system, application, authentication, connectivity, and infrastructure performance issues, including those affecting critical business and event operations.\nPerform system installations, upgrades, patching, and scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with established change management, security, and operational standards.\nEvaluate system performance, reliability, and security to identify issues and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure.\nDevelop, maintain, and execute PowerShell scripts and other automation tools to improve administrative efficiency, system monitoring, and operational consistency.\nCollaborate with network, infrastructure, and security personnel to resolve technical issues involving DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, connectivity, authentication, and related system dependencies.\nMaintain accurate system configurations, infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and technical records.\nTechnical Projects and Operational Support\nIndependently execute assigned systems engineering projects, including new system deployments, infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.\nWork with the Manager of Systems Engineering and senior infrastructure personnel to evaluate technical requirements, plan implementations, and ensure solutions align with established architectural and security standards.\nCoordinate with internal technical teams, external vendors, and service providers to implement and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions.\nParticipate in infrastructure planning, testing, change management, and operational handoffs for new and existing technologies.\nSupport IT infrastructure requirements associated with concerts, live events, and other venue operations, including troubleshooting and resolving time-sensitive technical issues.\nParticipate in scheduled after-hours maintenance, system upgrades, patching, on-call rotations, and emergency response activities as required.\nRespond to critical system incidents, independently diagnosing and resolving issues within assigned areas of responsibility and escalating matters requiring additional expertise or authorization.\nAssist with the development and improvement of technical procedures, system standards, and operational best practices.\nProvide technical assistance and guidance to Systems Administrators and other IT team members as needed.\nCommunicate system issues, project updates, technical recommendations, and operational risks to IT leadership and relevant stakeholders.\n Perform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\nMinimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, systems engineering, or enterprise IT infrastructure.\nDemonstrated experience independently administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services, Windows Server environments, identity management systems, and related enterprise infrastructure.\nExperience implementing system deployments, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities in a production environment.\nExperience supporting virtualization platforms, enterprise backup systems, and related infrastructure technologies.\nExperience administering VMware virtualization technologies, including vCenter, ESXi, virtual machines, snapshots, and resource management.\nExperience using PowerShell and other scripting or automation tools for systems administration, troubleshooting, and operational improvements.\nExperience participating in technical projects, infrastructure improvements, and cross-functional IT initiatives.\nRelevant Microsoft, Azure, VMware, HPE, or other technical certifications preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related administration tools.\nProficiency administering Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, identity synchronization, authentication, and access management.\nStrong working knowledge of Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with Linux server administration and Microsoft Azure environments.\nWorking knowledge of enterprise server hardware, storage, and infrastructure technologies, including HPE systems.\nFamiliarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Cohesity or comparable enterprise platforms.\nUnderstanding of endpoint management and security tools, including Microsoft Intune, Tanium, and related technologies.\nStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, and common infrastructure dependencies.\nKnowledge of industry standards and best practices related to systems administration, information security, patch management, change management, and infrastructure maintenance.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.\nAbility to independently plan and execute assigned technical work, evaluate potential risks, and exercise sound judgment when implementing changes in production environments.\nStrong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical personnel, business stakeholders, and external service providers.\nAbility to
