Written:07/23/2008\nRevision Date:07/15/2025\nJob Summary:Responsible for supervising the work activities of security officers to guard casino property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, and safeguards all casino Team Members, guests and assets, and administers security procedures by performing any combination of following duties.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\nMakes recommendations to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommends merit increases, evaluates performance, creates and adjusts performance standards create and/or delegate staff scheduling, invoke disciplinary action and provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.\nConducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.\nMaintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.\nGreet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.\nHas contact with casino guests providing or receiving information or during confrontational situations.\nUseseffective approaches for choosing a course of action or developsappropriate solutions to issues that may arise.\nResponsible for the security and safeguarding of Team Members, guests and casino assets.\nSafeguards casino assets by guarding doors, patrolling building, observing pull team, verifying slot fills and jackpots, and other observation of sensitive assets and procedures.\nEnsures casino property is protected from theft, illegal entry, vandalism, etc.\nEnsures that underage guests are not on casino gaming floor and stay in appropriate areas of casino.\nEnsures that security policies and procedures are adhered to.\nPatrols and checks, periodically, internal and outside perimeters of casino.\nMonitors and operates the Access management system to input new employee data and issue approved badges.\nMonitors access to secure areas of both OCR properties and assures proper process is followed.\nMonitors gaming activities for adherence to company policies.\nNotifies Slot Shift Manager, Director of Security, and other management of pertinent security activities.\nImplements Security Department policies and procedures established by Security Manager.\nFills out shift reports and incident reports daily.\nInforms on-coming security shift of all incidents that occurred during previous shifts.\nReviews all daily reports describing activities and incidents involving security personnel prior to their submission to the Director of Security.\nResponsible to schedule and recommend approved time off.\nExhibits Leadership skills through continuous evaluation, guidance and encouragement of Team Members.\nFoster a culture of learning and development; support individual growth through continuous feedback to achieve personal and professional goals.\nApproves scheduled hours in timekeeping system.\nAttends all meetings as required.\nCompletes all required training satisfactorily.\nMaintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times.\nWorks at other properties as needed.\nPerforms all other duties assigned Truth.\nA contribution and connection to the community.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMust have a high school diploma or equivalent,and four (4) years security or related experience,and two (2) years of supervisory experience or training.\nMust have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by our carrier.\nMust attend and successfully pass a use of force training curriculum within three (3)months of date of hire.\nKnowledge in gaming policies and procedures and casino operations preferred.\nAdvanced verbal and written communication skills.\nAdvanced organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAdvanced time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nBasic computer skills, experience using Microsoft Office products or related software and ability to quickly learn specialized software programs.\nMust have basic math skills.\nMust read, write and speak English fluently.\nMust pass a pre-employment physical.\nLocal in-town and occasional out-of-town travel will be required.\nMust be flexible with shift and days off with ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.\nYou may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.\nExposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.\nMust be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.\nPreference:
