HEAD CONCIERGE

  • Rendall & Rittner • £32,000 - £33,000 • Discovery Dock West - E14 9RT • 4 on, 4 off 0700 - 1900

DEVELOPMENT DETAILS

You’ll be the face of a luxury residential community in the heart of Canary Wharf, home to around 200 apartments and a discerning resident mix of professionals and families. The development benefits from a 24-hour concierge, high-spec leisure facilities including gym, pool and spa, and secure parking, creating a premium, hotel-style environment. With South Quay DLR, Canary Wharf Underground and the Elizabeth line close by, the setting is fast-paced, well-connected and service-led-ideal for a Head Concierge who enjoys delivering exceptional experiences in a polished front-of-house environment.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

You will lead the concierge function, setting the tone for five-star service at reception while coordinating a small team to keep operations smooth and secure. Most days you’ll balance people-focused front-of-house duties with behind-the-scenes coordination-managing deliveries, contractors, resident requests and building standards-while acting as the go-to point for queries and escalation.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Residents consistently praise the concierge team for responsive, friendly and solution-focused service.
  • The reception and lobby present flawlessly at all times with clear standards and checklists followed.
  • Rosters, handovers and daily logs are accurate, timely and support seamless 24/7 coverage.
  • Incidents, access control and health and safety procedures are managed calmly and by the book.
  • Contractors and deliveries are coordinated without disruption to residents or security.
  • Team members are well-briefed, supported and continuously improving through your coaching.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

  • Leading by example at the front desk: welcoming residents and visitors and resolving queries quickly.
  • Overseeing team shifts, handovers, daily briefings and allocating tasks to meet service priorities.
  • Managing parcel rooms, key control, access passes and vigilant lobby and CCTV monitoring.
  • Coordinating bookings for amenities, move-ins/outs, parking and resident services.
  • Liaising with contractors and the building management team to schedule works and maintain standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records: incident reports, logs, permits to work and compliance checklists.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

  • You take pride in creating a calm, polished and professional front-of-house experience.
  • You’re a natural organiser who thrives on structure, clear processes and timely follow-through.
  • You communicate clearly and empathetically, building trust with residents, visitors and colleagues.
  • You stay composed under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-moving situations.
  • You enjoy coaching others, giving feedback and fostering a supportive team culture.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS

  • Leading a concierge, front-of-house or guest services team in residential, hotel or corporate settings.
  • Working within luxury environments with high service expectations and attention to detail.
  • Using property management systems, access control, CCTV and parcel management software.
  • Coordinating contractors, permits to work and basic health and safety procedures.
  • Handling incidents, complaints and escalations with confident, practical problem-solving.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 16 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Enrolment into the Rendall & Rittner pension scheme
  • Employee assistance programme supporting family, health, money and work
  • Employee referral scheme
  • Team uniform* subject to development
  • Fully funded training and development opportunities
  • Access to discounts across travel, retail, fitness and entertainment
