Relocation assistance is not included.\nEssential Job Functions:\nResponsible for performing various month end journal entries and preparing closing reports accurately within the month end schedule.\nAccountable and responsible for accrual, reconciliation, and analysis of many general ledger accounts.\nPreparation and maintenance of selected areas in the budget and forecast.\nPrepare and coordinate various financial projects in the general accounting, cost accounting areas.\nReport significant variances on a weekly basis by investigating potential problems and devising solutions with cross functional department teams.\nPerform other duties as necessary in support of projects and departmental goals and objectives. \nTreat all information in a confidential and professional manner.\nCost Accounting Specific Duties:\nSet standard costs, value inventory and review standard costs on a regular basis by establishing and reviewing material costs, calculating labor and overhead rates, and reviewing BOMs and routings for accuracy.\nPerform monthly inventory revaluation.\nAssist in the PCP process by rolling, copying, and updating costs as needed along with completing analysis of impact based upon item BOM/Routing changes per team requirements.\nOwn the financial statement closing processes, including analyzing and journaling inventory, analyzing and journaling COGS, and analyzing and reporting all material variances. This ownership includes ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the process.\nBudget materials, labor and overhead (standard materials and the material variance accounts) for the annual budget. \nProvide visibility of financial position to the Supply Chain Team. Reach focus and alignment with business partners to improve financial performance.\nSupport new product development by providing cost estimates and business case analysis.\nResponsible for analysis and research of weekly variable scrap, monthly consolidated inventory, and monthly purchase price variance, obsolescence, and supplier receivables/credits for defective product.\nPerform daily updates of new items costs, resolving of zero cost inventories and checking for duplicate costs in Oracle.\nSupporting manufacturing and distribution operations with financial reporting and analysis.\nCycle counting reporting and holding meetings to facilitate communication to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve issues.\nReporting and analysis of labor efficiency variances.\nSupport inventory counting to ensure inventory accuracy before the final year-end audit.\nWork with Domestic and Asia teams to establish correct material costs, along with monitoring and forecasting purchase price variances. Process involves purchase cost and adders.\nCandidate Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting or related field. MBA, CPA, CMA certification preferred.\nMust have a firm grasp on conceptual and systematic issues. \nDemonstrate a broad understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Possesses specific knowledge in areas of specialty to support departmental objectives.\nComputer skills and experience with database programs such as Oracle, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.\nUsually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. \nHas applicable latitude for independent action or decisions.
