Education Savings Account (ESA) programs along with the Education Freedom Tax Credit are changing that. One of the fastest-growing public education initiatives in the U.S., they give states the ability to put education funding directly in the hands of families, who can then choose the learning experiences that best fit their child - from schools and tutors to therapy, curriculum, and technology.\nBut once these policies are signed into law, states face an enormous operational challenge. They must stand up entirely new programs, manage the secure and compliant flow of public funds, approve and monitor thousands of vendors, support families at scale, and prevent fraud - all while delivering a high-quality user experience.\nThat’s where Odyssey comes in.\nWe partner with state agencies to design, launch, and operate ESA and school choice programs on their behalf. We provide the technology, program operations, vendor ecosystem, and family experience that make these programs actually work in the real world. Today, we operate across 10 states, and our platform powers programs serving 250,000+ students and over $2B in annual education funding - and we’re just getting started.\nMost recently, we launched the Texas Education Savings Account (EFA) program - the biggest day-one ESA launch in the country - which has already received nearly 200,000 applications. It’s the kind of moment that captures exactly what we’re building toward: programs that work at scale, from day one, when it matters most.\nWe’re backed by respected investors, including a16z and Tusk Venture Partners, and we’re building the team that will take us to the next stage.\nOdyssey sits at the intersection of GovTech, EdTech, and FinTech. We are a public-sector operator, a technology company, and a program delivery partner all at once. The work we do is civic infrastructure - it determines whether families can access life-changing educational opportunities.\nWhy This Work Is Different\nWe’re in the weeds with state partners, internally with our product teams, and turning ambiguous policy into real systems that families depend on. This means building a platform that meets each state’s configuration needs while being flexible enough to support all customers. We are not building be-spoke software!\nIf you want a highly structured environment, this will feel uncomfortable. If you want ownership, speed, and problems that actually matter, you’ll feel right at home.\nThe Role\nOdyssey is looking for an exceptional individual to help drive the company's next phase of growth, reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer.\nThis role is ideal for someone with a background in technology, startups, management consulting or another rigorous, fast-paced environment who wants to move from advising organizations to helping build one.\nYou'll work directly with Odyssey's commercial leadership across the full go-to-market lifecycle-from researching new markets and building pipelines to developing presentations, managing our CRM, supporting proposals and procurements, and helping advance major opportunities.\nThis is a high-ownership role. The work will range from highly strategic to highly tactical. We're looking for someone who is just as willing to roll up their sleeves and execute as they are to think strategically.\nThis is also not a traditional sales development role. You won't spend your day working from a call script. Instead, you'll have broad exposure to how Odyssey identifies markets, develops relationships, competes for business, and ultimately wins and launches major government programs.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and manage the pipeline. Help identify prospective customers, partners, programs, and opportunities. Conduct research, build target lists, identify relevant stakeholders, and support outreach that creates new opportunities for Odyssey.\n\nOwn CRM hygiene and GTM operations. Help maintain Odyssey's CRM as the source of truth for the commercial organization. Ensure opportunities, contacts, meeting notes, next steps, deadlines, and pipeline stages are consistently captured and current. Develop regular pipeline reporting and help leadership understand where opportunities stand and what needs to happen next.\n\nCreate great presentations and materials. Build and refine pitch decks, proposals, one-pagers, briefing materials, market analyses, and other collateral. You'll frequently start with incomplete information or rough ideas and be expected to turn them into polished, executive-ready materials.\n\nAdvance business development opportunities. Work alongside commercial leadership to move opportunities forward. Develop account plans, research stakeholders, prepare meeting materials, capture follow-ups, coordinate next steps, and help maintain momentum across long and complex sales cycles.\n\nSupport proposals and procurements. Play a central role in responses to RFIs, RFPs, and other government procurements. Help organize requirements, draft and edit responses, gather information from across the company, manage deadlines, and produce polished submissions.\n\nSupport Odyssey's leadership team. Prepare executives for important external meetings, develop briefing documents, conduct background research, coordinate follow-ups, and jump into high-priority projects as they arise.\n\nHelp run the GTM machine. Build trackers, organize files, schedule meetings, maintain contact lists, take notes, follow up on action items, and handle the day-to-day work required to keep a fast-moving commercial organization organized.\n\nDo whatever helps us win. We're a growing company, and the work won't always fit neatly into a job description. We value people who see something that needs to get done and take care of it.\n\nAbout You\nYou have approximately 2-5 years of professional experience, ideally in management consulting, strategy, business operations, technology, or another rigorous and fast-paced environment.\n\nYou have excellent structured problem-solving skills and can quickly get smart on an unfamiliar market or business problem.\n\nYou are an exceptional writer and communicator who can synthesize complex information into clear, persuasive materials.\n\nYou are excellent at building presentations and care about both the substance and polish of the final product.\n\nYou are highly organized. Details, deadlines, follow-ups, and administrative tasks don't fall through the cracks when you own them.\n\nExperience building market-sizing analyses, business cases, financial models, or executive presentations.\n\nYou are comfortable with data and can use spreadsheets to analyze markets, organize information, and support decision-making.\n\nYou have strong commercial instincts and are interested in understanding how companies identify customers, build relationships, compete, and win.\n\nYou have a strong sense of ownership. If you notice something hasn't been done, your instinct is to figure out how to get it done rather than wait for someone else.\n\nYou are comfortable with ambiguity and can operate without a perfectly defined process or playbook.\n\nYou can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and exercise judgment about what matters most.\n\nYou are a thoughtful user of AI and modern productivity tools and are constantly looking for ways to work more effectively.\n\nYou are excited about Odyssey's mission and want to help build a category-defining company.\n\nMust be comfortable working 3-4 days a week onsite in our NYC office.\n\nMust be open to domestic travel, up to 20%.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience at a leading management consulting firm.\n\nExperience supporting C-Suite executives.\n\nExperience working on growth strategy, go-to-market, commercial strategy, market entry, due diligence, or public-sector engagements.\n\nExperience working with state or local government procurements.\n\nExperience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or another CRM.\n\nExposure to technology, government, education, financial services, or another regulated industry.\n\nOur Commitment to Equal Opportunity Employment:\nOdyssey is an equal opportunity employer. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.","description_format":"text","description_chars":8293,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["EdTech Platforms"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-14T17:21:08Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 2","filings_12m":2,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":157500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-10-17T05:46:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":110000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/odyssey-business-development-gtm-associate","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/odyssey-business-development-gtm-associate.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-18T11:01:49Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":16274,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-19T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":25122},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=25122"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fodyssey-business-development-gtm-associate"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fodyssey-business-development-gtm-associate"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fodyssey-business-development-gtm-associate"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/odyssey-business-development-gtm-associate\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fodyssey-business-development-gtm-associate"}]}
