This position supports developmental and operational testing of airborne instrumentation systems (AIS) flown on 4th and 5th generation aircraft, including integration of RF, EO/IR, and directed energy systems. The engineer will perform complex test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting in support of advanced EW and avionics programs.\nThis is a full-time, onsite role at Eglin AFB, with 25% CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel.\nResponsibilities\nDuties include, but not limited to:\nPerform test engineering duties supporting instrumentation testing on 4th/5th-generation fighter aircraft\nProvide technical expertise on issues of critical importance to the customer\nAssist in developing system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, and test entry/exit criteria\nSupport DT, OT, FDE, and test readiness certifications by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance, and assessing system stability\nPrepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the system-under-test life cycle\nDevelop and write methods of tests, test cases, test procedures/cards, test directives, technical reports, and test objectives\nReview and analyze system requirements and other test-related documents to support test conduct\nPlan, coordinate, and monitor test projects requiring modification of standard practices or instrumentation adaptation\nEvaluate tests, assess feasibility/soundness of engineering evaluations, and provide expert recommendations\nCoordinate schedules, pre-test preparations, post-test activities, and integration of test results\nTravel to military ranges and other locations to support test execution, configuration management, hardware setup/troubleshooting, data reduction, and deficiency investigations\nConduct system testing, validation/verification testing, and modeling & simulation at locations including (but not limited to):- Eglin AFB, FL- Ridgecrest, CA- Nevada Test and Training Range- Wright-Patterson AFB, OH- Patuxent River, MD\nQualifications\nCitizenship: Must be a US citizen\nMinimum Required Qualifications\nClearance: Active Secret; must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI\nEducation: Master of Science degree and 10+ years of relevant technical experience\nCertifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or CyberSec First Responder (CFR) or Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC) or CompTIA Cloud plus (Cloud+) or GIAC Security Essentials Cert (GSEC) or CompTIA Penetration Test plus (PenTest+) or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)\nOR Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant experience\nOR 12 years' experience in lieu of a Masters\n\nMinimum 5 years in engineering, R&D, and/or flight test of weapon/avionic systems including EW devices\nExperience with AIS, datalink ground systems, and 4th/5th gen aircraft bus interfaces (1760/1553)\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite\nAbility to lead technical efforts and support mission-critical testing\nPreferred Qualifications\nClearance: TS/SCI\nCertifications: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)\nExperience in RF/EO/IR/directed energy integration and test (highly desired)\n Technical Skills\nExperience with RF, EO/IR, directed energy systems, and electronic combat techniques\nKnowledge of requirements definition, technical development, integration, and testing of airborne instrumentation systems (AIS) for 4th/5th gen aircraft\nUnderstanding of ground systems capable of receiving and processing AIS datalink messages\nKnowledge of 1760/1553 fighter aircraft weapons bus interfaces with AIS pods/subsystems\nKnowledge of USAF acquisition program management, engineering management, and/or test operations\nExperience preparing detailed test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation\nAbility to troubleshoot hardware, instrumentation, and test configurations\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nInterpersonal Skills\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and lead/direct the work of others\nStrong written and oral communication skills, including technical briefings and documentation\nAbility to coordinate with diverse stakeholders across government, engineers, and program offices\nAbility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays to meet mission requirements\nAdditional Information\nLocation:\nTravel:\nRemote, Onsite, or Hybrid:\n#TMAS3 #CTG\nCompany Overview\nOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
