This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process. The Air Dominance Division is responsible for developing, producing, and sustaining our nation’s Counter-Air and Counter-Air Defense capabilities, as well as the aerial targets that support realistic training and weapons testing. Their mission is focused on delivering advanced, high-impact armament technologies that ensure the joint force maintains air dominance in contested environments.\nOur Systems Engineers apply and execute the following technical processes: requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, technical planning, technical assessment, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, technical data management, and interface management.\nResponsibilities\nDuties may include, but are not limited to:\nSupport systems engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)\nSupport requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification\nConduct system design, integration, and technical analysis activities\nDevelop and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface documents, and engineering reports\nSupport technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activities\nCollaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance\nAnalyze system performance and recommend design or process improvements\nSupport risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning\nProvide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision-making\nQualifications\nMinimum Required Qualifications:\nCitizenship: Must be a US Citizen\nClearance: Secret clearance\nEducation and experience:\nBachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience\nExperience supporting DoD acquisition programs or similar engineering environments\nExperience supporting system development, integration, and/or sustainment activities\nExperience establishing and managing Interface Control Working Groups (ICWG), and the development of Interface Control Plans (ICP).\nExperience integrating weapons and carriage systems into the aircraft and/or airborne platform Operational Flight Programs (OFP); management of the development, update, and assessment of proposed changes to mission planning systems such as the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) to support the activities necessary to accomplish mission planning for weapon systems\nPreferred Qualifications\nUndergraduate and/or graduate engineering degree from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program.\nExperience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)\nKnowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series\nAdditionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:\nTechnical Skills\nKnowledge and experience in analyzing host aircraft/store compatibility requirements and developing interface control documents for captive carriage and release/launch of Armament Systems in compliance with MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-3014, MIL-A-8591, and Universal Armament Interface (UAI) protocols.\n\nKnowledge and experience in the mechanical, aerodynamic, electrical, logical, and logistical compatibility between United States (US) and foreign fighter/bomber/UAV aircraft, suspension and release equipment, and stores (including their embedded computer hardware and software systems).\n\nKnowledge and experience with aircraft and store electrical power and avionics systems (i.e., seeker, sensors, fire control, mission computer, pilot/vehicle interface, stores management system, GPS, INS, control actuators).\n\nInterpersonal Skills\nAbility to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to support complex, mission-critical programs\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nAdditional Information\nLocation: Eglin AFB, FL\nTravel: May be required up to 10% depending on program needs\nWork Environment: Onsite\nCompany Overview\nOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
