We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and deploy advanced ML systems that power scalable, secure, and high-impact AI capabilities across the enterprise. The ideal candidate has deep experience in ML architecture, MLOps, backend microservices, and cloud-native technologies. This role will be instrumental in shaping our AI platform, accelerating model development, and delivering vetted concepts and solutions that support both internal teams and enterprise-level applications. This role owns the cross-cutting technical charter and operating model for AI and Autonomy and supports growth and development of the Technical Center and of the larger Odyssey Technical community. This position can be in Huntsville, AL, Lincoln, MA, or REMOTE.\nResponsibilities\nDuties include, but are not limited to:\nArchitect, deploy, and maintain secure ML systems including gateways, authorization frameworks, and scalable model endpoints. \nBuild self-service tooling, templates, and automation to accelerate agentic AI and model development workflows. \nDevelop and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines for ML services, model deployment, and package distribution. \nCreate robust model evaluation tooling enabling repeatable, versioned model selection and experiment tracking. \nDesign and deliver computer vision systems for product detection, dataset generation, and image-based search capabilities. \nImplement automated validation, conversion, and cost-optimized deployment pipelines for ML models. \nBuild backend microservices to support deep learning inference, image augmentation, and a variety of AI-enabled applications. \nPartner cross-functionally with engineering, research, and product teams to translate requirements into scalable ML solutions. \nEnsure reliability, observability, and security across deployed GenAI endpoints and ML infrastructure. \nQualifications\nCitizenship: Must be a US citizen\nMinimum Required Qualifications\nClearance: Ability to Acquire Secret Clearance\nEducation: Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Computer Science\nYears of Experience: 5+\nCertifications: N/A\nPreferred Qualifications\nClearance: Ability to Acquire Top Secret Clearance\nEducation: Master of Science, Systems Engineering\nYears of experience: 7+\nCertifications: N/A\nTechnical Skills\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. \n5+ years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, MLOps, AI Systems Engineering, or similar roles. \nProven experience architecting secure ML platforms, gateways, or authorization systems for enterprise environments. \nExpertise developing and training models and systems using Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV. \nStrong experience with cloud-based ML ecosystems such as AWS SageMaker, Lambda, S3, or equivalent. \nHands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. \nExperience with ML lifecycle management frameworks such as MLflow, ClearML, or Databricks. \nDemonstrated ability to create reusable model deployment templates, automated validation tooling, and scalable inference APIs. \nFamiliarity with distributed systems and messaging tools like Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ. \nProficiency with backend development using standard languages such as Python, C#, C++, Java, and SQL. \nInterpersonal Skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills \nAbility to develop and present technical briefings and recommendations \nAbility to explain technical concepts to audiences at different levels \nAbility to work effectively within Integrated Product Teams (IPT) \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills \nAbility to collaborate with Government, military, and contractor personnel \nAdditional Information\nLocation: Huntsville, AL, Lincoln, MA, or REMOTE\nTravel: 25%\nRemote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Onsite or Remote\nCompany Overview\nOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
