In this role you will gain an introduction to vacuum/inert induction melting, gas atomization & powder downstream processing. The Intern’s direct role will be to create Oerlikon AutoCAD renderings of various components, updating plant layout drawings, and compiling information concerning critical process measuring devices. The intern will also complete one reasonably sized process improvement proposal & present it to key staff members to the conclusion of his/her internship period.\nYour Responsibilities:\nPrinciple responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nFull AutoCAD renderings of physical hardware components\nUpdating plant layout drawings in AutoCAD.\nUpdating instrument calibration catalogue to include missing instruments (flow meters, thermocouples, etc.).\nDesigning and proposing organization structure for Engineering files.\nImplementation of structure if approved.\nAssist Process/Project Engineers with manufacturing process improvement projects.\nPrepare project summaries.\nFollow all company safety, environmental, and quality standards.\nYour Profile:\nPursuing bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering\nU.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder\nEagerness to get hands-on with dirty, noisy, and hot equipment when help is needed.\nPreferred:\nKnowledge of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and/or fluid dynamics\nKnowledge of powder metallurgy, thermal barrier coatings and/or additive manufacturing.\nSkills & Expertise\nProficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nAbility to work within a cross-functional team.\nWhy Oerlikon:\nTeam Spirit is one of our core values.
