Our vision is to make human knowledge easily accessible and infinitely scalable by building tools for the new age knowledge economy.\nAbout the role\nWe're hiring a Growth Engineer to build the systems that bring people to Office Hours and help them get value quickly. You'll work across everything growth related: signup and onboarding flows, the experiments that tell us what's working, and the instrumentation that shows us where people get stuck.\nWe're a two-sided marketplace, so there are two funnels to improve. Organizations come to us looking for the right expert, and experts come to us to share what they know and get paid for it. Both sides have their own problems worth solving.\nThis role sits on the engineering team and works closely with marketing, product, and design. You'll be measured on whether the numbers move, and you'll have real latitude to decide what's worth trying.\nWe build with AI coding tools, and we want someone who's leaning into them, using them to prototype, iterate, and ship faster without compromising on quality.\nWhat you'll do\nBuild and ship across our growth surfaces, including landing pages, signup and onboarding flows, and the paths that turn interest into activity on both sides of the marketplace\n\nRun experiments end to end: set up the test, ship it, measure it honestly, and kill the ones that don't work\n\nBuild and improve the experimentation and feature-flagging infrastructure that makes those tests quick to run\n\nInstrument the funnel so we can see where people drop off and why, and make that visible to the rest of the team\n\nBuild internal tooling and automations that make our growth and marketing work faster\n\nUse AI coding tools to prototype and ship quickly, raising both velocity and quality\n\nWhat you bring\nYou have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience and are comfortable working across the stack\n\nYou're tenacious and you move fast: when an experiment doesn't move the numbers, you figure out why and try the next thing\n\nYou take initiative: you spot opportunities, make the case for them, and see them through\n\nYou have experience with experimentation, A/B testing, or funnel instrumentation, or a real appetite to learn it\n\nYou're comfortable with SQL and product analytics, enough to find where a funnel is leaking without waiting on someone else\n\nYou embrace AI coding tools and use them to move faster without sacrificing quality\n\nYou work easily with marketing, product, and design, and you bring data to the question of what to try next\n\nTech Stack\nFront end: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui\n\nBack end: Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Temporal\n\nAnalytics and experimentation: Statsig, Amplitude, Metabase\n\nWorkflow: GitHub, Slack, Notion, Figma, Linear\n\nBonus Points\nExperience with Statsig or similar experimentation and feature-flagging platforms\n\nExperience with lifecycle messaging across email, in-app, and notifications\n\nExperience with mobile app development on iOS or Android\n\nExperience with marketplace growth, or with any two-sided or multi-stakeholder funnel\n\nExperience with SEO, Core Web Vitals, or CMS-driven marketing sites\n\nExperience building internal tools or automations across sales and marketing systems\n\nHands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex\n\nOur Benefits\nCompetitive salary & stock options\n\nHealthcare, dental, and vision coverage\n\n$100 monthly fitness stipend\n\nFlexible vacation time, regular company holidays\n\nCompany retreats (Tahoe, San Diego, Mendocino, Mexico City)\n\nFlexible remote work policy\n\nPaid parental leave (12 weeks of fully paid bonding leave, and birthing parents get 8-10 additional weeks of paid recovery leave)\n\nMore about us\nOffice Hours was founded in 2020.
