You will join a team of experienced Product Owners, run your own development team, and contribute directly to high profile, customer facing releases. Within three to six months of joining, you will be expected to run your own releases without supervision.\nThe role will focus on our Enterprise Reporting, Analytics, and Insights capabilities to include but not limited to Dashboards, Reports, API, etc.\nThis is a fast-paced organization. Each Product Owner manages the build and release of multiple concurrent products, working with a distributed team of product management and software development professionals located throughout North America and Europe.\nWe embrace AI to accelerate our workflows as we pursue new market opportunities, including but not limited to AI prototyping and autonomous coding agents. Product Owners are expected to use these tools in their daily work, not to evaluate them from a distance.\nWe are looking for people with a background in cybersecurity or in gaming.\nDuties and responsibilities\nOwns one or more defined product areas and runs the development team that builds them, taking the problem from the VP of Product and owning the solution\n\nManages the build and release of multiple concurrent products, and holds the sequence, dates and dependencies across all of them\n\nReaches self-sufficiency on release management within three to six months of joining, and runs releases independently from that point\n\nBuilds and defends a quarterly roadmap for their areas, item by item, including the reason for each item and its priority. The Head of Product approves the roadmap\n\nIdentifies and validates user pain points, running discovery directly with practitioners, enterprise customers, students and internal stakeholders rather than working from summaries provided by others\n\nDefines the success metrics and the failure threshold before development begins, and reports against them after release\n\nOwns the first version of the experience, including flows, states and edge cases, and briefs design and engineering with a stated point of view\n\nUses AI tools for prototyping, research and synthesis, and works with autonomous coding agents to accelerate delivery. A working prototype, not a written description, is the expected handoff\n\nBuilds, edits and maintains the product specs consisting of user stories, business rules, pre-conditions and acceptance criteria, at a level of detail the team can build from without a follow-up meeting\n\nReviews and prioritizes the product backlog against the outcome each area owns, coordinates dependencies with the other Product Owners, and declines requests with a stated reason when they do not fit the release\n\nSupports prioritization decisions with named accounts, tickets and practitioner feedback rather than generalized statements about what customers want\n\nReviews completed stories and validates that each one meets the business need and the acceptance criteria, has the appropriate persistent acceptance tests, and complies with the definition of done\n\nLeads sprint planning, the sprint demo and the retrospective for their team, and improves the process each iteration\n\nParticipates in all phases of software development (from concept to design to test to deploy to monitor to defect resolution)\n\nCommunicates status, dates, dependencies and risks in writing to stakeholders across sales, marketing, student success and support\n\nDevelops, measures and monitors the key metrics for their areas, the progress of the projects, and the quality of the deliverables\n\nDemonstrates an unwavering commitment to excellence, team culture, and living the OffSec values\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership. Demonstrated scope and autonomy carry more weight than the number of years\n\nA background in cybersecurity, data products, or gaming. Experience developing cybersecurity practitioner products is a strong plus\n\nDemonstrated ownership of a product area, not only a backlog, evidenced by a product decision the candidate made, the reason for it, and the outcome that followed\n\nEvidence of running releases without supervision, or of reaching that point quickly in a previous role\n\nExperience running more than one product or workstream at the same time without either one slipping unnoticed\n\nA success metric set before a build and reported against afterwards, including one that missed the threshold and the change that resulted\n\nCustomer discovery run first-hand, from booking the conversations to turning them into a product decision\n\nDaily working use of AI tools for research, synthesis, prototyping and design handoff, and a willingness to work with autonomous coding agents\n\nAbility to wireframe flows within an existing design system and to specify empty, error and loading states, not only the primary path\n\nGood understanding of the software development life cycle, and good knowledge of the tools that manage it (ie. ticketing and documentation systems as Jira and Confluence)\n\nGood cross-disciplinary collaboration experience between engineering, design, product management, project management, technical operations, and internal stakeholders\n\nAbility to state whether a product decision favors the individual practitioner, the educational institution, the government buyer or the corporate enterprise, and to defend that choice\n\nExceptional verbal and written communication
