Apply and join us!\nAbout the Job\nAn OffSec Student Mentor is responsible for providing support and guidance to OffSec students via live chat, support email and grading exams. Exam grading will be based on the certification(s) the individual has achieved. Based on the candidate’s strengths and capabilities, duties will include supporting various project assignments such as onsite, online, or remote course training; vulnerable machine testing; wiki creation; troubleshooting network connectivity; and software development. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.\nThe Student Mentor role is a full-time salaried position with shift work required, including evenings and weekends. This position requires availability for shifts scheduled across a 24/7 coverage model.\nDuties and responsibilities\nEngage, collaborate and help students in OffSec Community Platform, live chat and support email\n\nPresent a live stream or webinar for concept demonstration, machine walkthroughs, or topics related to cybersecurity\n\nParticipate in projects including, but not limited to, curriculum and learning path designs, new course reviews, test lab machines, and the implementation of new tools and systems, etc.\n\nExam grading\n\nTest, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot OffSec lab systems and machines\n\nCreate and maintain department document guidelines, procedures and processes\n\nEnsure daily tasks and ongoing student support are completed timely and satisfactory\n\nReview and approve accommodation requests and supporting documentation, and maintain records of accommodation decisions.\n\nAssist cross-functional teams as needed.\n\nAbility to work a shift schedule, including flexibility to adjust to different time zones as needed.\n\nInternational travel to customer locations or training conferences will proceed without travel restrictions as needed.\n\nQualifications\nOSCP certification\n\nCyberSecurity mindset for creative and innovative problem solving\n\nFluency in reading, writing, and comprehension of English\n\n3+ years of well-rounded IT experience, including at least 2 years in server-side technologies and management, as well as experience operating and troubleshooting Linux and Windows\n\nFamiliarity with enterprise-level networking configuration\n\nFamiliarity with defense cybersecurity, such as SOC, IR, TH, MITRE D3FEND, and NICE framework, is a plus.\n\nA strong drive to continually improve customer experience, success, and engagement, leveraging data and metrics.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills\n\nStrong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and investigation skills\n\nAbility to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines\n\nA strong belief and understanding of being a team player in a remote working environment\n\nDesired Skills\nExperience in teaching and mentoring\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong knowledge of networking, virtualization, Windows, storage, and backup\n\nPrior experience working remotely\n\nExperience working with customer service ticketing system(s)\n\nStrong problem-solving skills\n\nWorking Conditions\nThis is a full time position to be performed from a home office.
