Our robotic systems combine sensor information, cutting edge classical/machine learning (ML) algorithms and a robotics real-time system platform for control, decision making and execution. \nAs a Robotics Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Linux-based infrastructure that supports our robotics systems. You will collaborate closely with our robotics engineers, software developers, and Dev-ops engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components. Your primary goal will be to create a stable and efficient Linux environment that enables the smooth operation of our robotic platforms.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nDesign, configure, and manage Linux-based systems to support robotics platforms, including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of robot's onboard computers, workstations, and embedded systems.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide Linux-based solutions for robotics software development, testing, and deployment.\nImplement security measures and best practices to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other potential threats.\nMonitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize Linux configurations to ensure the efficient operation of robotic systems.\nConduct regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.\nTroubleshoot and resolve Linux-related issues, including hardware failures, software errors, and network connectivity problems.\nIntegrate third-party software and hardware components into the Linux-based robotics systems.\nDocument system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and enable efficient support.\nTo hit the ground running, you need experience in the following:\n5+ years of relevant experience, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nProven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, preferably in a robotics or automation-related environment.\nStrong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian.\nProficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and system monitoring.\nExperience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).\nStrong knowledge of network and application protocols and their associated security implications (TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, TLS, SSH, DNS, SD-WAN, etc.).\nSolid understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices for securing Linux systems.\nExperience in wireless communications including but not limited to WiFi, Cellular and expanding to 900 MHz, Zigbee, Bluetooth, software-defined radios, frequency-hopping.\nStrong knowledge of wireless communication concepts (omni directional/directional antennas, MIMO, Mesh, etc.).\nKnowledge of robotic frameworks, such as ROS (Robot Operating System), is a plus.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nProactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
