In addition to fulfilling all duties of a restaurant host, this position also includes training, providing guidance during shifts, and organizing restaurant reservations to ensure smooth operations.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nGreets guests promptly in a polite professional manner, ensuring guests feel welcomed.\nAdheres to Non-uniform Standard of Appearance and maintains exceptional hygiene and grooming standards.\nDetermines guest needs, verifies table availability, assigns appropriate table for seating, ensures the flow of guests is efficient.\nAddress guest concerns, special requests, or questions with professionalism and courtesy.\nEnsure all guests are treated with respect and their needs are met in a timely manner.\nGuides guest to appropriate table.Assists guest with seating and presents menu.\nNotifies server of guest seating and communicates any special needs or requests.\nMonitor the seating chart and ensure timely seating of guests while maintaining a high level of customer service.\n\nCoordinate and organize restaurant reservations using the resort’s booking system.\nConfirm reservations, adjust seating arrangements as necessary, and manage the reservation schedule to maximize seating efficiency.\nMaintain notes on guest profiles including preferences, special dates, and successes or opportunities of prior visits.\nServe as the lead host on duty, guiding the daily operations of the host team.\nCoordinate closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a smooth dining experience.\nGuide hosts during busy shifts, offering support and ensuring consistency in guest service.\nLead by example by maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.\nResponsible for monitoring menu inventory level for both signature restaurants for service.\nAssist in managing the host station’s inventory, ensuring it is stocked and organized.\nAssist in training new hosts on greeting protocols, seating procedures, and reservation systems.\nAssist management with adjustments to the host training program and operational procedures.\nComplete appropriate trainings listed on the human resources Training Matrix.\nAdhere to Wheeling Park Commission’s safety rules and policy; refer any and all safety concerns to department manager, safety committee or human resources.\nInteract with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.\nCOMPETENCIES\nPrevious experience as a restaurant host or in a similar guest service role required.\nStrong leadership \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nOrganizational skills with attention to detail \nAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment.\nFamiliarity with reservation systems or the ability to quickly learn new systems.\nPositive attitude\nStrong problem-solving skills.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nCoordinator is responsible for overseeing hosts/hostess to the extent of assigning and monitoring daily tasks of employees; refers issues relating to organization’s policy to Restaurant Manager.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to nine months related experience and/or training;
