Position Scope/Summary

Serves as Education Coordinator for the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, a multi-disciplinary program dedicated to excellence in patient care, clinical training, research, and outcomes studies related to minimally invasive surgery techniques and technology. Coordinates, oversees, and supports the full portfolio of CMIS educational programming including preceptorships, ACCME-accredited courses, multi-day symposiums, off-site conferences, journal clubs, surgical skills labs, simulation-based training, student observation experiences, industry-sponsored training and research and development labs, credentialing-related assessment activities, and new training efforts for surgical trainees in ATLAS. Manages program logistics, scheduling, learner coordination, event scorecard tracking, purchasing activities, and administrative support necessary to ensure high-quality educational delivery. Coordinates lab set-ups, including hands-on training environments that use human cadaveric specimens, porcine/pig models, explant tissues, or dry simulation; proctors FLS and FES exams given to surgical trainees; coordinates requests, documentation, and internal review for industry-provided materials, equipment, or funding support in accordance with institutional policies; supports development and maintenance of curricula; coordinates accreditation needs for eligible courses in conjunction with ACCME guidelines or other accrediting bodies; supports budget tracking, PO coordination, invoice support, and supply/resource tracking; develops marketing and communication materials related to educational events, including brochures, website content, posters, and electronic advertisements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating events, conferences, training programs, or academic educational activities.

  • Willingness and ability to work in surgical education environments involving human cadaveric specimens, porcine/pig models, explant tissues, or dry simulation.

  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required; familiarity with Workday or similar systems desired.
