Project Manager-Medical Oncology

The Division of Medical Oncology is seeking a Project Manager to provide senior-level leadership and oversight for complex, high-impact work that advances the Division’s clinical, research, and educational missions. The role supports divisional education, research, and quality efforts and leads division-wide strategic initiatives and cross-functional coordination.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, strategic thinker who can independently manage a portfolio of projects, partner closely with faculty and leadership, and serve as a key liaison with institutional and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Grants & Special Projects

  • Source and coordinate governmental, foundations and industry-sponsored funding aligned with divisional priorities for education and mentoring.
  • Lead grant applications from planning through submission, then drive post-award delivery (scope, milestones, deliverables, compliance, and reporting).

Project & Portfolio Management

  • Independently lead a portfolio of complex, cross-functional projects spanning clinical operations, research, education, and faculty initiatives.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, governance structures, and progress reports.
  • Identify risks and dependencies and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.

Division Operations & Strategy

  • Partner with the Division Director and Division Administrator to advance strategic goals and operational priorities.
  • Analyze data and develop metrics to support decision-making and performance monitoring.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Prepare high-level reports and briefing materials.
  • Support planning and execution of divisional retreats, symposia, and strategic events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health, health sciences, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 or more years of progressively responsible experience in project management, program management, research administration, or healthcare operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant- funding and grant regulation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
