You will collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop and execute tailored scopes of services that align with client needs and objectives. Your role as a key decision-maker throughout the project lifecycle will involve guiding the process from conceptual design to construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables and successful project outcomes. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in fostering strong client relationships and driving innovative solutions in site design.\nYour Responsibilities\nProject Management:\nProvide guidance to the PM regarding anticipated tasks and relative effort.\nAchieve project success, adhering to work plans, schedules, and budgets.\nOversee design team and facilitate QA/QC.\nTechnical Expertise:\nPlanning and design of new construction and redevelopment sites.\nPreparation of engineering plans, specifications, reports, studies, technical memoranda, and other project documentation.\nRegulatory knowledge within the project’s jurisdiction.\nFamiliarity with Zoning & Land Use Codes, Subdivision Regulations, and Design Standards\nStormwater management, quantity/quality controls. Understanding of Best Management Practices for design and construction.\nFunctional knowledge of sanitary sewer, water, power, gas, and telecom utilities.\nGrading design for mass earthwork, roadways, parking lots, building pads, sidewalks, and other site improvements. Understanding of ADA & PROWAG design requirements.\nCompetency in Land Surveying practices. Ability to interpret plats, deeds, easements, legal descriptions, etc.\nExpertise with topographic models of existing and proposed conditions.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3d, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling programs, AutoTurn and similar civil engineering design software.\nTeamwork and Leadership:\nWork collaboratively with team of internal staff, external consultants, and regulatory authorities.\nMentor staff and contribute to organizational growth.\nCommunicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.\nRequirements\nBachelor's or better in Civil Engineering or related field.\n5-10 years of experience in Site Design, Civil Engineering, or Land Development.\nMichigan PE license is required.\nDesign experience for private development projects in residential, commercial, or industrial markets.\nExperience preparing construction documents including plan drawings, specifications, bid documents, and cost opinions.\nAbility to engage with clients, internal staff, contractors, and community officials.\nExperience with state agencies and/or DOT specifications.\nBenefits\nAt OHM Advisors, our people are our greatest asset.
