Project engineering responsibilities include infrastructure design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimating, and thorough project QA/QC. Additional duties include assisting with developing and managing the project scope, schedule, and budget; and delivering an overall quality project to our clients. Collaboration with a team of engineers and mentoring of entry-level staff will be essential.\nYour Responsibilities:\nAssist with managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects and engineers.\nAssist with developing and maintaining project scope, schedule, and budget.\nDesign of municipal projects involving infrastructure design, site/civil design, water resources, roadway rehabilitation/reconstruction, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities.\nUnderstanding City of Columbus and ODOT design criteria, standards, and specifications.\nParticipation in local professional society functions.\nLead and manage municipal engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope, and meeting all technical and regulatory requirements.\nOversee and coordinate the design, development, and construction of municipal infrastructure, including roads, utilities, stormwater management, and related systems.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff, reviewing designs, calculations, and technical documentation to ensure quality and compliance with standards.\nManage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on track and addressing potential risks or issues as they arise.\nCollaborate with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.\nPerform site assessments, inspections, and quality control during construction phases to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.\nPrepare and review technical reports, memos, and other documentation required for regulatory approvals, permitting, and project delivery.\nAssist in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project plans, supporting business development and client engagement efforts.\nConduct alternatives analysis, value engineering, and design optimization to address project challenges and maximize efficiency.\nRequirements\nEducation, Experience & Licensure:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio. \n8-10 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, stormwater systems, and other public works. \nProficiency with design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related engineering tools; experience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is a plus. \nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. \nTechnical Skills:\nThe desire and ability to build strong client relationships.\nStrong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and standards governing municipal infrastructure design and construction. \nExperience with project management, including budget development, scheduling, risk management, and scope control. \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction, report preparation, and team coordination. \nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. \nCommitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and standards. \nBenefits\nAt OHM Advisors, our people are our greatest asset.
