The goal is to strive for continuous improvement in the areas of goods and services quality, cost and cycle time reduction.\nThe position of Buyer is currently a hybrid position. However, the expectation is this position will work out of the Toronto office location at 661 University Avenue whenever and as long as requested by OICR. The successful candidate must be available to work from the Toronto office.\nThis position is temporary, full-time for eighteen months.\nPosition Responsibilities\nObtain quotes for price, quality, freight and customs and delivery variables for purchase order and supply\nPerforms certain administrative support tasks for the Procurement Department, ranging from arranging appointments and managing schedules, answering calls and inquiries, reaching out to vendors and suppliers, manage databases, producing reports, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the smooth flow of products within the company\nAssist Procurement Manager/contract specialist by reviewing the purchase requisitions, processing the purchase orders and in utilizing the established competitive processes for Request for Proposals and Request for Quotations to ensure OICR obtains best value for all goods and services Request for Quotations to ensure OICR obtains best value for all goods and services\nManage OICR mobile accounts, including adding travel packs and new hardware\nAssist in the administration of the cell phone invoices and purchases of new cell phones\nWork with all members of the Procurement Department to ensure all priorities and objectives are met\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders at OICR\nManage relationships with external clients in order to achieve high levels of internal customer\nHandle order processes through JDE system to ensure internal controls are met\nProvide backup support to Senior Materials Coordinator as needed\nMaintain records of all procurement transactions for all goods and services\nReconcile p-card transactions for Procurement department\nConfiguration and setting of the requisition approval routes\nAdministration of access to the websites of the core vendors (list of all passwords, IDs)\nMaintain Contract Management Database\nAssist with preparing various reports for procurement activities e.g. number of vendors setup, number of purchase orders issued\nAssist with training users on the procurement workflow as needed\nPosition Requirements\nCompletion of a 2-year community college program in Supply Chain, Business or a related field, or recognized equivalent\nCompleted or working towards CSCMP designation\nAdvanced expertise with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook\nStrong interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization and externally with suppliers\nExcellent communication and organizational skills\nAbility to work both independently and in a team environment\nInitiative, pro-active, action-oriented, a high level of accuracy, detail-oriented, ability to work with a sense of urgency and ability to meet tight timelines\nFast learner with proven ability to learn and use multiple software systems\nPractical accounting knowledge\nKnowledge of purchasing, costing, purchase price variances and forecasting systems\nKnowledge and experience with ERP systems (preferable JD Edwards Procurement)\nFor more information about OICR, please visit the website at www.oicr.on.ca.\nTo learn more about working at OICR, visit our career page.\nPOSTED DATE: October 2, 2026\nCLOSING DATE: Until Filled\nOICR is committed to fostering a climate of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
