The Research Technician I will act as a member of the Production Library Preparation and Sequencing Team and will be involved in supporting various projects under the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network (MOHCCN).\nThis position is temporary, full-time for one-year.\nPosition Responsibilities\nPerforming molecular biology laboratory techniques (PCR, qPCR, DNA fragment analysis) to support genomic research.\nKnowledge and use of quality control methods in a genomics lab.\nGeneral NGS laboratory maintenance tasks as required.\nDocumentation and communication of experimental results.\nFollowing laboratory SOPs and contributing to their upkeep.\nOptimization of protocols and reducing laboratory activities to written SOPs.\nSupporting more senior Genome Research Platform staff as required.\nEvaluating new genomics technologies for use in future research projects if required.\nPerformance of high-quality work in an ISO 15189/CLIA-compliant environment.\nPosition Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in molecular biology or related specialty or recognized equivalent.\nExperience in a cancer research laboratory or equivalent.\nHands-on experience in Molecular Biology or related fields (genomics, genetics).\nDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.\nAttention to detail and strong organizational skills.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nProven sense of team building.\nFor more information about OICR, please visit the website at www.oicr.on.ca.\nTo learn more about working at OICR, visit our career page.\nPOSTED DATE: August 28, 2026\nCLOSING DATE: Until Filled\nOICR is committed to fostering a climate of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
