Oilserv Limited was incorporated in 1992 and commenced operations in 1995.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Automation Engineer \n\nLocation: Lagos \n\nKey Deliverables\n\nProgram, test, and troubleshoot automation equipment such as PLCs, robotics, and control systems while ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.\nResponsible for designing, developing, and optimizing automated systems and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.\nPlay a key role in advancing manufacturing capabilities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.\nThe role involves analyzing workflow data, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and implementing solutions that reduce manual effort and operational costs.\n\nKey Role and Responsibilities\n\nAnalyze production workflows to identify automation opportunities and recommend technical solutions\nEnsure all automation systems comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal quality requirements\nDesign, develop, and implement automated systems, controls, and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work\nMonitor system performance, gather data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives\nConduct testing, validation, and commissioning of new automation systems to verify performance and compliance\nCollaborate with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues with automated machinery, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime\nSupport maintenance activities by training technicians on automated equipment use and troubleshooting\nCreate and maintain documentation including system specifications, wiring diagrams, test protocols, and user guides\nProgram, configure, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control systems, and related automation equipment\n\nSkills / Requirements / Qualifications\n\nCommunication: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and technical teams\nExperience: 2–5 years of automation engineering, controls engineering, robotics, or industrial systems experience\nSoftware Knowledge: Experience with SCADA systems, industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus), and CAD tools\nAnalytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability for mechanical, electrical, and software-related automation issues\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, ladder logic, and industrial control systems\nAttention to Detail: Ability to develop precise documentation, wiring diagrams, and test procedures\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field\nCertifications
