Oilserv Limited was incorporated in 1992 and commenced operations in 1995.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Shipping, Customs & Expediting Coordinator \n\nLocation: Port Harcourt, Rivers\n\nKey Deliverables\n\nThe role provides oversight of shipping performance, logistics service providers, customs compliance, demurrage control, shipment visibility and logistics risk management across all Group entities.\nThe Coordinator leads the Shipping, Customs & Expediting team and works closely with Procurement, Contracts, Projects, Engineering, Finance and Logistics stakeholders to support uninterrupted project and operational delivery.\nThe Shipping, Customs & Expediting Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating all Group shipping, customs clearance, freight forwarding and post-order expediting activities to ensure the timely, compliant and cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment and services.\n\nKey Roles and Responsibilities\n\nShipping, Customs and Logistics Management:\n\nLead and coordinate all Group shipping, customs clearance and logistics activities, ensuring imported and locally sourced materials, equipment and services are delivered in accordance with project schedules, operational requirements and approved delivery plans.\n\nExpediting and Delivery Assurance:\n\nProvide functional leadership for all post-order expediting activities, ensuring critical procurement packages, long-lead items and vendor commitments are actively monitored and delivered within agreed schedules.\nEscalate potential delays and drive recovery plans where required.\n\nCustoms Compliance and Import Controls:\n\nMonitor customs-clearance performance and ensure all consignments are processed efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations.\nEnsure full compliance with customs regulations, import-export requirements, trade finance documentation, import duty exemption processes and other statutory obligations.\n\nFreight Forwarder and Logistics Service Provider Management:\n\nManage relationships and performance of freight forwarders, clearing agents, transport providers, inspection agencies and other logistics partners.\nEstablish service-performance expectations, conduct periodic performance reviews and implement corrective actions where required.\n\nDemurrage, Detention and Logistics Cost Control:\n\nImplement strategies to minimise demurrage, detention, storage and logistics costs.\nMonitor logistics cost performance, identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in freight and transportation efficiency.\n\nShipment Visibility and Performance Reporting:\n\nMaintain reporting frameworks, logistics trackers, shipment performance metrics and risk registers to support timely management decision-making.\nEnsure accurate visibility of all shipments, logistics activities and customs-clearance status across the Group.\n\nLogistics Risk Management and Supply Continuity:\n\nIdentify and manage logistics, customs, transportation and supply-chain risks that could impact project delivery, operational performance or regulatory compliance.\nDevelop mitigation plans and coordinate stakeholder responses to logistics disruptions.\n\nCross-Functional Stakeholder Coordination:\n\nCoordinate with Procurement, Contracts, Engineering, Projects, Finance, QA/QC, Warehouse, Materials Management and Site Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics, expediting and customs-clearance activities.\n\nTeam Leadership and Capability Development:\n\nEstablish performance expectations, allocate responsibilities, monitor delivery and support capability development across the function.\nLead, coach and develop the Shipping, Customs & Expediting Specialists and Expeditors.\n\nGovernance, Compliance and Continuous Improvement:\n\nEnsure logistics and expediting activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, HSEQ requirements and applicable laws.\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen logistics processes, improve performance and enhance service delivery across the Group.\n\nCompetencies (Skills, Experience, and Knowledge)\n\nVendor and freight-forwarder management and negotiation skills.\nStrong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, Incoterms and port operations (Lagos, Onne, Port Harcourt).\nHands-on experience with supply chain management software such as SAP, SAGE, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.\nMembership with relevant professional and regulatory bodies. e.g. CIPS, CILT etc\nMinimum of 10 years in shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance or logistics coordination;
