We are searching for a Facilities Electrician to join our facilities and operations team.\nPosition Description\nThe Facilities Electrician maintains, improves, and brings online the electrical infrastructure that supports Oklo's industrial, manufacturing, and project facilities. This role applies electrical fundamentals to high-voltage distribution, motor controls, circuits, the National Electrical Code, California Electrical Safety Orders, and Cal/OSHA requirements. Working independently with general supervision and in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, this person performs troubleshooting, corrective repairs, upgrades, new installations, and preventive maintenance. The role will be deployed to various Oklo sites to help bring equipment, building systems, and facilities online and will travel to sites as needed.\nSpecific responsibilities may include:\nPerform skilled electrical work associated with construction, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting.\nComplete skilled electrical and mechanical work related to the distribution and transmission of electrical power.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare for, install, commission, and bring newly purchased production and facility equipment online.\nDeploy to various Oklo project and operating sites to support facility startup, equipment energization, commissioning, and operational readiness.\nWork with 480-volt and 208-volt single-phase and three-phase electrical services.\nRough in and terminate single-phase and three-phase panels, including bending and installing electrical metallic tubing.\nMaintain building electrical systems, lighting, compressed-air systems, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.\nApply Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and established safety practices while performing work.\nConduct daily and weekly facility inspections to monitor general operations, safety, and building conditions.\nSafely operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, and sanders.\nPerform work across multiple maintenance trades, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and lighting.\nTravel to Oklo sites as project schedules, commissioning activities, maintenance needs, and business priorities require.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nAt least two years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development credential.\nAbility to take ownership of assigned tasks with general supervision, organize workloads effectively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.\nStrong problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach, and the ability to anticipate next steps.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nA desire to continuously learn and develop new skills.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.\nAbility to perform arithmetic calculations.\nCertification or demonstrated ability to safely operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and pallet jacks.\nPossession of a valid California Class C driver's license.\nComprehensive knowledge of environmental and workplace safety practices and procedures.\nAbility to maintain accurate and detailed written and electronic documentation.\nPhysical ability to walk or stand for extended periods and to bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as required to perform assigned duties.\nAbility and willingness to travel to, work at, and support multiple Oklo sites as needed.\nBonus Qualifications:\nExperience supporting equipment commissioning, facility startup, or operational readiness activities.\nExperience working across multiple maintenance trades in industrial or manufacturing facilities.\nExperience mobilizing between project sites and adapting to changing field priorities.\nCompetencies\nWe are looking for a Facilities Electrician who demonstrates:\nPassionate about clean energy \nAn optimist at heart\nPassionate about making advanced fission a reality\nWilling and able to learn quickly\nWilling to think differently and do things in new ways \nComfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment\nExcited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving while not leaning only on what has been done before \nWilling to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems\nAn excellent writer who can write in a modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!\nHonesty: We promote a safe working environment in which transparent and honest communication is a standard business practice.\nA positive attitude: Success begins with the right mindset. For the first two weeks of onboarding, employees are required to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.\nAbout Oklo compensation:\nCompensation at Oklo includes base pay and Restricted Stock Units. The target base pay for this position is $40-$55 per hour.
