We are searching for a Project Scheduler to join our team. \nPosition Description\nWe are seeking a disciplined and analytical Project Scheduler to be embedded within Oklo capital project teams and support the delivery of advanced energy and infrastructure projects. This role will develop, maintain, and analyze the integrated project schedule across engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. The Project Scheduler will provide an objective schedule perspective, challenge assumptions constructively, and ensure that forecast dates, logic, and progress reflect the project's execution reality.\nThe Project Scheduler will partner closely with the Project Manager, Project Controller, Project Sponsor, functional leads, and external vendors to establish executable plans, identify critical and near-critical paths, evaluate schedule impacts, and support timely recovery decisions. This role interfaces directly with EPCs and other vendors to integrate external schedules, validate progress, and hold schedule contributors accountable for timely and high-quality status information. The Project Scheduler will work in close coordination with the Portfolio Planner to apply common schedule coding, calendars, milestone definitions, and quality standards. This role reports into the Sr. Director of Project Budgeting and Controls with day-to-day integration within assigned project teams.\nSpecific responsibilities may include:\nIntegrated Schedule Development and Baseline Management: Develop and maintain logic-driven integrated project schedules, including activities, durations, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, planning packages, milestones, and interfaces with external schedules. Support baseline establishment and controlled re-baselining in accordance with governance requirements.\nRecurring Status and Forecasting: Lead regular schedule status cycles with project teams and external contributors. Incorporate actual progress and forecast updates while validating logic, durations, remaining work, completion criteria, and projected dates.\nCritical Path and Risk Analysis: Analyze critical and near-critical paths, total and free float, schedule sensitivity, and emerging risks. Distinguish true completion drivers from secondary delays and communicate potential impacts early.\nRecovery and Scenario Planning: Develop what-if analyses, recovery plans, acceleration options, and schedule compression scenarios. Quantify the milestone and critical-path implications of proposed decisions, changes, and mitigation actions.\nCross-Functional and Vendor Integration: Coordinate schedule interfaces across engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, vendors, and other external stakeholders. Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review meetings.\nCost and Schedule Integration: Partner with Project Controls and Finance to align schedule progress, forecast dates, cost forecasts, cash flow, and project performance reporting. Support objective assessments of physical progress and earned value where applicable.\nReporting and Decision Support: Produce milestone reports, look-ahead plans, schedule narratives, dashboards, and executive-ready insights. Clearly communicate schedule variance, drivers, risks, recovery opportunities, and decisions required.\nSchedule Quality and Governance: Perform routine health checks and data validation, resolve missing or unrealistic information with status owners, and maintain compliance with Oklo scheduling standards, coding structures, and change-control processes.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience\n5+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules for complex technical or capital projects\nExperience supporting integrated schedules with at least 25 active schedule contributors or status owners across multiple disciplines\nHands-on experience developing and maintaining schedules in Microsoft Project\nStrong understanding of critical path methodology, schedule logic, float, forecasting, progress measurement, baseline management, and change control\nExperience facilitating recurring schedule status and planning meetings with cross-functional technical teams\nAbility to challenge schedule assumptions constructively and translate detailed analysis into clear recommendations\nStrong written, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills\nBonus Qualifications:\nPMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification\nExperience supporting engineering, nuclear, energy, industrial, EPC, or other large capital projects\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Project and familiarity with Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud\nExperience with DCMA schedule assessment principles or equivalent schedule quality metrics\nExperience integrating cost, schedule, risk, and earned-value data\nStartup or high-growth company experience\nCompetencies\nWe are looking for a Project Scheduler that is:\nComfortable being embedded within project teams while maintaining objective schedule integrity\nAble to build strong partnerships with technical teams and hold contributors accountable for timely, high-quality information\nDisciplined in separating schedule facts, assumptions, risks, and management targets\nProactive in surfacing critical-path threats and recovery opportunities before they become project issues\nConfident facilitating planning discussions across stakeholders with competing priorities\nClear and concise when communicating schedule impacts to technical teams and senior leadership\nDetail-oriented, data-driven, and committed to schedule quality\nAdaptable in a fast-paced environment where priorities and project maturity evolve quickly\nExcited by Oklo's mission to deploy advanced fission power plants\nPassionate about clean energy \nWilling and able to learn quickly\nEager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with us\nWilling to think differently and do things in new ways \nComfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment\nExcited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving, while not leaning only on what has been done before \nWilling to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems\nAn excellent writer who can write in modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!\nAble to communicate technical content and results verbally \nWho you are:\nA startup person: You aren't driven by titles or hierarchy, and prefer efficiency to excess process. You don't need or expect to have a lot of guidance but you enjoy working in a fast-paced team. The successful person in this job will not only be creative, but also enjoy being creative and solving open-ended problems which may change day-by-day.\nDetail-oriented: This focus is a big part of excellence, consistency, and quality. Excellent grammar and spelling matter for both good communication as well as the image of the company that we put forward.\nAbout Oklo travel requirements:\nOklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings.
