This is a unique opportunity to join a strategic team from the ground up and shape the future of Okta's professional services.\nPosition Summary\nAs the Architect for the Professional Services R&D team, you will be the principal technical leader responsible for the high-level design and technical strategy of our entire portfolio of reusable assets. You will define the architectural vision and standards that ensure our solutions are robust, scalable, and secure. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills to guide the engineering team in building a cohesive ecosystem of tools on technologies like Java, React, Node, Python, and .NET.\nResponsibilities\nDefine and own the end-to-end technical architecture for all reusable assets and solutions developed by the R&D team.\nEstablish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices to guide the development team.\nEvaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms to meet project requirements and long-term business goals.\nMentor engineers and the Development Manager on complex technical challenges and architectural principles.\nLead design reviews and ensure that all solutions align with the defined architecture and security standards.\nCollaborate with Product Management to assess the technical feasibility of new ideas and contribute to the R&D roadmap.\nPrototype and spike new technologies and approaches to de-risk projects and drive innovation.\nQualifications\n10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or architect role.\nExpert-level knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and distributed systems.\nDeep-seated experience designing and building applications using multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, C#/.NET) and front-end frameworks (e.g., React).\nExtensive experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and designing cloud-native solutions.\nProven ability to think strategically and create a long-term technical vision.\nStrong understanding of security best practices and identity concepts (IAM, OAuth, SAML).\nExceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nP25244_3491494\nThe Okta Experience\nSupporting Your Well-Being\nDriving Social Impact\nDeveloping Talent and Fostering Connection + Community\nWe are intentional about connection.
