If you are too, let's talk.\nOkta is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Test for our UI Engineering team. As a senior member of product quality engineering, you will own the test framework and quality strategy for our frontend and platform surfaces, ensuring every UI release meets the highest bar for functional correctness, visual consistency, accessibility, and global usability. The ideal candidate has deep experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, has designed and scaled UI test frameworks, and has a track record of setting technical direction across teams rather than just executing within one.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nDesign and own scalable UI test architecture and frameworks used across multiple frontend teams\nBuild and maintain cross-browser (CB) and visual regression testing (VRT) suites to catch UI regressions before release\nEstablish automated and manual accessibility (a11y/WCAG) testing practices integrated into CI\nDesign and maintain localization/globalization (L10n/G11n) test coverage across locales, languages, and RTL layouts\nEnsure out-of-the-box (OOB) configurations and default behaviors are verified across all supported environments\nReview requirements and design specs to develop test plans and test strategy for platform-level and frontend initiatives\nWork with engineering management to scope and plan cross-team quality engineering efforts\nClearly communicate and document QE architecture and plans for scrum teams to review and adopt\nRespond to Production issues/alerts and customer issues during on-call rotation\nMentor SDETs, new hires, and interns; influence engineering-wide quality standard\nMinimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \n5+ years of quality engineering experience with deep, hands-on test automation expertise\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to read and write production-quality frontend code\nHands-on expertise with modern UI testing technologies (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver)\nProven experience with cross-browser testing (CBT), visual regression testing (VRT), accessibility testing, and localization/globalization testing\nDemonstrated experience designing test architecture and frameworks from the ground up, not just writing tests within an existing one\nAbility to operate and lead with minimal supervision, setting technical direction for other engineers\nAbility to quickly learn new technologies and provide input at an architectural level\nEducation and Training: \nB.S.
