We’re looking for a collaborative, creative team member who understands how to write content that is clear, concise, and relevant. \nIn this role, you will work closely with a global network of engineers, product managers, and customer success professionals to understand real-world use cases for identity and access management. You will create practical technical content that guides Okta customers to successfully adopt and deploy our solutions. \nIf you have a passion for learning new technologies and want to help us drive adoption and ubiquity of our products and platform, this is the place for you!\nNote: This role requires in-person onboarding in office during the first week of employment.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nDesign, develop, edit, and deliver accurate and effective developer and admin documentation for Okta products.\nWork closely with Engineering, Product Management, Design, QA, Support, and members of the Information Development team to ensure quality and accuracy of content.\nFollow our documentation guidelines to produce high quality documentation.\nMulti-task and prioritize projects as you support multiple engineering teams\nCollaborate with developers to review API documentation.\nAnalyze customer feedback before and after delivering documentation to enhance content depth, quality, and relevance.\nWhat you’ll bring to the role\n4+ years of relevant experience writing technical documentation for Cloud or Enterprise products.\nPractical experience with topic-based writing, minimalism, and a proven ability to simplify complex tasks.\nExperience writing SDK, CLI, REST APIs and developer tools documentation.\nExperience writing customer-facing documentation and release notes.\nExperience with Markdown, code editors and source code control tools such as Git and GitHub.\nExperience using Oxygen or similar DITA authoring tools.\nExperience leveraging GenAI tools such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT to assist in the documentation lifecycle.\nProven record of writing accurate, clear, and concise documentation for a global audience, with an ability to plan and prioritize deliverables with reasonable estimates.\nAnd extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!\nBachelor’s degree or certificate in Technical Writing is preferred.\nStrong ability to understand the application of security products in the real world and produce use case-based content.\nExperience streamlining or orchestrating technical writing workflows and content tasks using AI-assisted tools.\nExperience with Redocly or any API management and publishing platform.\nKnowledge of programming languages such as the ability to interpret and document code examples in JavaScript, Python, React or Angular\nKnowledge of Okta or similar identity and access management solutions.\nP6074_3569541\nThe Okta Experience\nSupporting Your Well-Being \nDriving Social Impact \nDeveloping Talent and Fostering Connection + Community\nWe are intentional about connection.
