What matters most is that you are a strong backend/platform engineer who can understand complex systems, write reliable code, lead other engineers, and take ownership from design to production.\n\nResponsibilities: \nLead major backend and platform initiatives from design to production.\nWrite clean, idiomatic, production-grade Golang.\nDesign scalable network calls, storage and concurrency-heavy flows.\nImprove code structure, abstractions, testing patterns, error handling, and long-term maintainability.\nProfile and optimise systems for throughput, memory usage, latency, and reliability.\nMentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and debugging.\nImprove logging, metrics, alerts, deployment safety, and production readiness.\nHelp shape OLake's open-source engineering culture.\nContribute to OLake-specific areas such as connectors, replication workflows, checkpointing, schema handling, and destination writers.\n\nRequirements: \n5+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n2+ years of strong hands-on Golang experience.\nExperience owning backend/platform projects end-to-end.\nStrong understanding of APIs, services, workers, databases, queues, concurrency, and system design.\nPractical knowledge of goroutines, channels, context, interfaces, testing, profiling, and memory behaviour.\nExperience debugging complex issues across code, infrastructure, databases, logs, and runtime behaviour.\nFamiliarity with Docker, CI/CD, Linux, and at least one cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.\nAbility to write clear technical design documents and communicate tradeoffs effectively.\nStrong ownership mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.\nGood to have, but not mandatory: Experience with data engineering, ETL/ELT, data replication, connectors, CDC, or ingestion systems.\nFamiliarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Debezium, Airbyte, Fivetran, Spark, or Flink.\n\nGood to Have: \nYou are a hands-on technical leader who still loves to code.\nYou are very strong with Golang and backend/platform engineering.\nYou enjoy solving complex systems problems.\nYou can bring structure to ambiguity and drive projects to completion.\nYou care about performance, reliability, clean design, and engineering quality.\nYou enjoy mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.\nYou are
