You will work on high-impact problems, build tools, improve decision quality, and help scale how the business operates.\nKey responsibilities will include amongst others the following:\nApplication Software Development\nDevelop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements.\nApplications Software Maintenance\nMonitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.\nDesign and Conceptualization\nProduce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.\nTechnical Developments Recommendation\nDiscuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.\nApplication Software Road Map\nContribute to and maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.\nFaults Diagnosis and Correction\nProvide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.\nDocumentation\nCreate and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high standard.\nTesting Information Technology (IT) Performance\nDesign and perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.\nOperational Compliance\nMaintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards.\nIdentify, within the team, patterns of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate.\nInformation Security\nImplement required security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption, and provide input on their design, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems.\nHorizon Scanning\nExplore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.\nData Collection and Analysis\nConduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.\nAnalysis of \"As Is\" and \"To Be\"\nDocument \"as is\" and \"to be\" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the \"to be\" capability to record accurately the change required.\nTechnical Database Support\nDesign distribution of basic database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance.\nAI & Intelligent Systems\nSupport AI integration across investment research (including screening tools), portfolio management and operations.\nIdentify practical AI use cases and help deploy decision-support tool.\nExplore automation that improves efficiency, insight and client outcomes.\nQuantitative & Analytical Support\nSupport model development and quantitative analysis across investment workstreams.\nAssist with data modelling, forecasting, optimisation and analytical problem-solving.\nWork with financial datasets to generate insight and improve decisions.\nSupport modelling initiatives in Bloomberg and related platforms.\nProcess & Systems Innovation\nAnalyse workflows and identify redesign and optimisation opportunities.\nBuild dashboards and reporting tools that improve scalability and decision-making.\nSupport data-driven decision-making across business and investment functions.\nThese responsibilities offer an overview of the role and are not confined or restricted solely to what is listed.\nQualifications and Experience required:\nNQF 7\nIndustrial Engineering graduate (Preferred)\nStrong Python capability\nStrong quantitative and analytical ability\nCurious and creative in applying AI and technology to real-world challenges\nCommercially aware, with an interest in financial markets and wealth management\nHighly driven, self-starting and intellectually ambitious\nComfortable in complex, ambiguous environments\nAlways looking for smarter, faster ways of doing things\nSkills\nAction Planning, Application Development, Business Process Design, Computer Literacy, Data Management, Data Modeling, Evaluating Information, Identifying Customer Needs, Information Technology (IT) Support, Market Analysis, Oral Communications, Product Development, Technical Support, Technical Troubleshooting, Test Case Management, User Requirements Documentation, Web DevelopmentCompetencies\nBusiness InsightCollaboratesCommunicates EffectivelyCourageCultivates InnovationDecision QualityDrives ResultsEnsures AccountabilityEducation\nNQF Level 7 -
