You can see some of our favorite projects here.\nStart your journey with OBE and help us build the future.\nWhat You'll Get to Do\nThe Quality Control Specialist is focused on process observations, analysis, audits & inspections of fabricated metal building products (doors, frames, skylights, curtainwall), & reports to the Plant Manager.This role is perfect for a self-starter with strong attention to detail who's comfortable owning issues end-to-end. As a vital member of the Quality Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.\nJob responsibilities include:\nOwn Material Discrepancy Report (MDR) investigation & resolution. Serve as the dedicated point person driving root-cause analysis & corrective action to closure on customer complaints, partnering directly with operators & supervisors\nMonitor daily processes & material while conducting audits of specified quality checks\nAssist with addressing reported internal quality issues\nGather, enter & analyze process data to create reports that facilitate improvement\nAnalyze & assist with problem solving, root cause analysis & corrective actions; participate in implementation of corrective actions with process owners\nServe as the calm, credible go-to for accept / rework / reject decisions on nonconforming material on the shop floor\nHelp modernize the plant's quality inspection documentation\nFacilitate & coordinate tracking and follow-up on any rejected order, discrepancy, MDR, or complaint\nPartner informally with the metal-processing side's Quality Specialist to share best practices across the campus\nWhat We Are Looking For\nExcellent written & oral communication skills\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision & maintain quality standards\nCapable of working under pressure, especially while addressing customer complaints/MDRs\nAbility to use standard hand measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, square & protractor), with the ability & willingness to learn other process-specific measurement instruments\nAbility to read die and/or engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances & specifications\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, with general comfort in data entry & analysis\nCommitment to working safely & supporting the facility's safety efforts\nMust be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally\nComfortable being the point person on material inspection sign-off decisions\nBasic process knowledge of manufacturing operations related to metal processing and/or fabrication\nPrior experience with Epicor, SAP, or similar ERP/quality systems\nDefect-tracking system experience\nPrior blueprint-reading experience specific to building products, doors/frames, curtainwall, or glazing\nPosition Pay Range\n$24—$28 USD\nWhat OBE Offers You\nBenefits that benefit you -
