Supervises unionized workforce using various Government and Commercial applications, which includes NAVSEA’s Material Access Technology (MAT) System and Automated Request for Kitting (ARK). Supervises employees performing services in both inside and outside areas including on open docks. Warehouse Specialist Supervisor will ensure employees are cross-trained to move between the functional areas. Warehouse Specialist Supervisor takes direction from the Site Manager and completes contract services at DLA Distribution Norfolk at Portsmouth Virginia and DLA Maritime Norfolk, which is located at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Portsmouth, VA (NNSY), at Naval Station (NSN) Norfolk and off-site locations when required. Supervises employees working various rotating shifts, various adjusted hours, overtime, and weekends commensurate with workload requirements to support the customer.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nOversees storage and distribution operations.\nDirects employees engaged in receiving, storing, issue, shipment and distribution of a variety of bin and bulk materials, equipment, and commodities using automated and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems.\nPlans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on weekly or monthly bases.\nEstablishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences in agreement with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by Site Manager.\nRedirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.\nConducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.\nEnsures work is done properly and efficiently in agreement with the terms and condition of the contract.\nUses MAT and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS, i.e., resolving common error conditions, responds to computer output instructions or error conditions, and following SOPs.\nMust possess a motor vehicle and forklift license for forklifts up to 20K.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nManages subordinate lead personnel and meeting contract performance standards.\nEnsures workforce personnel wear all required personal protection equipment (PPE) (e.g., hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, safety boots/shoes, aprons, masks, face shields, reflective vests, safety harnesses) during the performance of their duties.\nEnsures area of responsibility is operating in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals as required for day to day operational processing and preparation for any audit event.\nResponsible for compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, Assertion Memo IAW CDRL A034, to include monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and or corrective action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made.\nResponsible for the Audit Assertion Program functional areas of Offload/Tally, Receipt Induction, Stow/Warehousing, Re-warehousing and Stock Selection, i.e. Pick/Pack/Prep for Shipment.\nEducation and/or Experience:\nHigh School degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Logistics preferred.\nMust have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in distribution and warehousing using MAT or equivalent automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nMust be knowledgeable in DD1348-1A receipt processing, Navy requisitions, inventory practices, supply operations, data entry into personal computers and scanning devices, and possess an understanding of warehouse storage plans.\nDirect experience using various Government and Commercial applications including NAVSEA’s Material Access Technology (MAT) System and Automated Request for Kitting (ARK).\nInterface with and support material owners, other Material Distribution Activities, DLA Primary Level Field Activities, and other customers to accomplish the contract requirements.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:\nMust possess a motor vehicle and forklift license for forklifts up to 20K.\nSecurity Clearance:\nPosition requires U.S. Citizenship, a US Government background check and may require a US Government SECRET Clearance.\nIf SECRET Clearance Level is required, candidate must also:\nHave a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.\nBe able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance if required.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
