(Active SC Clearance needed)\nYou’ll work within multidisciplinary Agile teams, developing and maintaining secure, scalable and high-quality software solutions. Drawing on your software engineering and consultancy experience, you’ll contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from Discovery through to Live, helping clients deliver services that meet user needs and Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.\nThis is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise, collaborate with stakeholders and help shape effective digital solutions to complex public sector challenges.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nDesigning, developing and maintaining web applications using Python and Django.\n\nBuilding robust APIs and integrating applications with other systems and services.\n\nWriting clean, maintainable and well-tested code, following software engineering best practices.\n\nWorking within multidisciplinary teams using Agile methodologies and GDS standards.\n\nCollaborating with developers, designers, delivery managers and stakeholders to deliver user-focused solutions.\n\nIdentifying opportunities to improve application performance, security, scalability and reliability.\n\nContributing to technical decisions, code reviews and knowledge sharing across the team.\n\nAbout you\nStrong commercial experience developing applications using Python and Django.\n\nExperience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services.\n\nGood understanding of software engineering principles, testing, version control and CI/CD practices.\n\nExperience working with databases and designing efficient data models.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud environments, ideally AWS, and modern deployment practices.\n\nExperience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams.\n\nAn understanding of accessibility, security and user-centred design principles.\n\nPublic sector, consultancy or GDS experience, with an understanding of the Government Service Standard, would be advantageous.\n\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nAbout Olive Jar Digital\nOlive Jar Digital is a digital consultancy delivering technology, digital and transformation services across the public and private sectors.
