Our AI solutions enhance efficiency, spark creativity, and drive insightful decision-making, empowering our teams to produce innovative and impactful results. \nRole: Accountant \nLocation: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia\nAbout the role: \nOLIVER is on the lookout for an Accountant based in Malaysia to join an amazing team in an exciting, fastgrowing business.\nWhat you will be doing: \nAs a key member of the Finance team, the Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This role will also play a critical part in cash flow management, weekly forecasting activities, intercompany reconciliations, and supporting both internal and external audit and tax processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.\nAccounts Payable (AP):\nEnsure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices\nManage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies\nMaintain accurate AP records and files\nEnsure compliance with relevant policies and procedures\nAccounts Receivable (AR):\nMonitor and follow up on outstanding receivables\nApply customer payments accurately\nMaintain accurate AR records and files\nInitiate collections activities\nEnsure compliance with relevant policies and procedures\nCash Flow Management:\nMonitor weekly cash balances\nPreparing cash flow forecasts\nIdentify and report on cash flow variances\nRecommend strategies to improve cash flow\nForecasting:\nParticipate in weekly forecasting activities\nAnalyze financial data to support forecasting accuracy\nAssist in the preparation of forecast reports\nMonth-end closing:\nPerforming bank reconciliations\nAssist with month-end and year-end closing activities, i.e. prepare journal entries as needed\nAssist in the preparation and analysis of management reports post month-end closing\nPerform other accounting duties as assigned\nIntercompany Reconciliation:\nPerform monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of intercompany transactions\nInvestigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies in a timely manner\nCoordinate with other departments and regional entities to resolve reconciliation issues\nPrepare and maintain intercompany reconciliation documentation\nManagement Reporting:\nPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including variance analysis\nAssist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules\nProvide insightful commentary and explanations for financial results\nAssist in the development and improvement of management reporting processes\nLiaison with external parties (e.g. auditors, bankers, government bodies, tax agents)\nAssist with internal and external audit requests\nPrepare schedules and documentation for auditors\nAssist with statutory, tax and regulatory compliance matters, i.e. tax preparation and filing, e-invoice submission, etc.\nOther Responsibilities:\nAssist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed\nEnsure compliance with accounting policies and procedures\nMaintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail\nContribute to process improvements within the finance department\nWhat you need to be great in this role: \nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field\nAt least 3-4 years of financial experience, preferably in multinational corporations \nProficiency in accounting software, preferably NetSuite, and Microsoft excel\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills\nExperience with cash flow management and forecasting is a plus\nExperience supporting audits and tax processes is a plus\nReq ID:18993\n#LI-RO1 #LI-Onsite\nOur values shape everything we do: \nBeAmbitious to succeed \nBe Imaginative to push the boundaries of what’s possible \nBe Inspirational to do groundbreaking work \nBe always learning and listening to understand \nBe Results-focused to exceed expectations \nBe actively pro-inclusive and anti-racist across our community, clients and creations \nOur recruitment process does not employ artificial intelligence for selection.
