The industry still relies on a ten-year-old hardware blueprint that has reached its limit. The OLIX Decode Accelerator 1 (DX-1) is the first accelerator architected specifically for decode. Rack-scale co-design of logic, data movement, packaging, optics and interconnect delivers a step change in system-level performance.\nThe Role\nWe are hiring a Security Engineer to own the security of the systems every OLIX employee depends on: identity, devices, email, collaboration tools and our cloud estate. Our IP is the company, and protecting it is a hands-on engineering job.\nYou will own detection and response, harden our tooling, run vulnerability management and build the technical controls behind our ISO 27001 certification in 2027. You will work alongside our AI Security Engineer and IT Systems Engineer, and you will use automation and AI to make a small team cover a fast-growing company. This is a high-ownership role with the freedom to define how security engineering works at OLIX.\nResponsibilities\nOwn detection and response: triage every security alert, work incidents end to end with our managed detection and response partner, and fix the root cause.\n\nHarden the core estate: configure and baseline security across identity, endpoints, Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, GitHub and AWS.\n\nRun vulnerability management: set remediation service levels, close vulnerabilities in order of real risk, and report progress every week.\n\nBuild certification controls: operate and evidence the controls for ISO 27001, SOC 2 and NIST CSF.\n\nExtend detection coverage: connect new log sources to our SIEM and write the detection rules for them.\n\nAutomate security work: build the scripts, agents and workflows that remove manual security tasks.\n\nSkills and experience\n5 or more years in security engineering or security operations, owning controls end to end.\n\nHands-on experience running a SIEM and writing detection rules.\n\nHands-on experience administering EDR and responding to incidents on macOS and Windows.\n\nWorking knowledge of identity security, ideally Okta.\n\nExperience securing SaaS platforms and AWS accounts.\n\nTechnical controls delivered for at least one certification audit (ISO 27001, SOC 2 or Cyber Essentials).\n\nScripting in Python or a similar language, and a habit of using AI to automate work.\n\nNice to have: experience in a hardware, semiconductor or deep-tech company.\n\nCompensation and equity\nCompetitive salary: commensurate with your experience, skills and location.\n\nEquity and ownership: meaningful stock options.\n\nProximity bonus: an annual Living-Local Bonus if you live within 20 minutes of the office.\n\nRetirement benefits: employer-contributed retirement plans.\n\nDue to U.S. export control regulations, candidates' eligibility to work at OLIX depends on their most recent citizenship or permanent residency status.
