This, in turn, creates a lasting impact on the world around us.\nJob Description\nTake the next step in your construction materials testing career with Olsson.\nWe’re looking for an experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to join our team in Olathe, Kansas. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field, working independently, and using their technical expertise to help ensure construction projects are built safely and to the required standards.\nIn this role, you’ll perform construction materials testing and inspections on a variety of projects throughout the Kansas City metro area. You’ll independently collect and test construction materials, complete field observations and inspections, document results, and communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.\nAs a senior member of the team, you’ll bring strong field experience and technical knowledge while also serving as a resource to less-experienced technicians. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, being outdoors, and seeing the direct impact of their work on active construction projects.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform field testing and inspections of construction materials in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.\nCollect samples and accurately document testing and inspection results.\nOperate specialized testing equipment and maintain accurate field documentation.\nCommunicate testing results and field observations with project managers and other project stakeholders.\nWork independently at construction sites throughout the Kansas City metro area.\nServe as a knowledgeable resource for less-experienced technicians.\nSupport field and/or laboratory testing activities based on project and team needs.\nMaintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and client service.\nWhat We Provide\nCompany truck for transportation to and from job sites.\nCompany-provided PPE.\nWork boot reimbursement program.\nCompany-issued laptop.\nCell phone reimbursement options.\nPaid training and opportunities to continue expanding your technical knowledge and certifications.\nMentorship and career-development opportunities within Olsson.\nYou Are Passionate About\nTaking ownership of your work and producing accurate, reliable results.\nWorking both independently and collaboratively with a team.\nApplying your field experience to solve problems.\nSupporting quality and safety on construction projects.\nUsing your expertise to positively impact the communities where you work.\nYou Bring to the Team\n6+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, or construction materials testing.\nICC, ACI Grade I, and Nuclear Gauge certifications, OR a bachelor’s degree in engineering with EIT certification.\nStrong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.\nAssociate degree from a technical or four-year school preferred, but not required.\nODOT certifications preferred.\nWillingness to work a flexible schedule based on project needs.\nValid driver’s license and a good driving history.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.\nAdditional Information\nOlsson specializes in engineering and design, client advisory services, planning, field services, and environmental.
