No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed.\n\nSummary / Primary Role:\nThe Forklift Mechanic is primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on the company's forklift fleet to help ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.\n\nApproximately 70% of the position is focused on forklift maintenance and repair, supporting a fleet of approximately 30 forklifts located in Fullerton. The remaining portion of the role may include assisting with maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, facility equipment, and general building maintenance as needed.\n\nThis position is ideal for an experienced forklift mechanic or someone with strong mechanical aptitude and related equipment repair experience who is willing and able to learn forklift repair.\n\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on company forklifts and related material-handling equipment.\nWork on a variety of forklift equipment, including propane and electric units, pallet jacks, and multiple manufacturers.\nDiagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently.\nAssist with maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and other company equipment as needed.\nPerform general facility and building maintenance, which may include minor electrical, plumbing, doors, dock equipment, painting, and other general repairs.\nAssist with welding or fabrication work as needed. Training may be provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.\nComplete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately, including equipment/unit number, work performed, labor time, and parts used.\nMaintain and organize assigned tools, equipment, parts, and work areas.\nCommunicate with management and the Safety Department regarding maintenance and safety-related issues.\nComply with all OSHA, DOT, CHP, federal, state, and Company safety requirements.\nProperly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, welding equipment, masks, and other protective equipment as applicable.\nAssist with BIT inspections, preventive maintenance, or other service needs at outlying terminals as required.\nPerform special projects and other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat You Bring:\nMinimum 1 year of recent forklift mechanic experience is highly preferred.\nCandidates with strong mechanical aptitude and relevant equipment repair experience may also be considered if willing to learn forklift maintenance and repair.\nExperience in performing preventive maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with electrical, hydraulic, brake, battery/charging, engine, or related mechanical systems is preferred.\nWelding or fabrication experience is a plus; willingness to learn is acceptable.\nExperience working on propane and/or electric forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar material-handling equipment is preferred.\nAbility to diagnose mechanical problems independently while knowing when to seek assistance for more complex repairs.\nMust provide basic mechanic hand tools.
