No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed.\n\nSummary / Primary Role:\nThe position of Mover Packer Crew Leader will have primary responsibility to lead the crew per job assignment. This includes driver responsibilities to/from the job site, packing, unpacking, loading, pick-up and delivery of freight to various customer and company locations within the greater Anchorage area.\n\nWhat You’ll Do:\nOperates vehicles (box truck) in compliance with local and state traffic codes/laws and company procedures.\nMaintains a professional attitude with customers, coworkers, and the public motoring.\nStrictly observe work schedules and specific delivery requirements set forth by Odyssey International Services Inc./ARS and their customers.\nPerforms pre-trip inspections on all vehicles he/she operates and ensures any necessary repairs are completed according to state and federal regulations prior to leaving the terminal.\nEnsure load is properly stowed and secured to prevent shifting or damage due to shifting during transit to the delivery location.\nUse proper equipment for loading/unloading of freight to prevent damage to products or injury from strain, etc.\nKnowledge to install and remove tire chains.\nLeader/Person in charge at job assignment to manage the crew, workload, communicate to dispatcher/office, and be the primary point of contact with the member and QC at the job site.\nReview job requirements, ensure packing materials are accounted for prior to going to the job for the day.\nTrain/guide team members on the job, provide directions, goals to achieve, etc. to ensure that the job is completed in a professional and timely manner.\nEnsure clean up at job site at the end of the day, that all tools are returned to the ARS warehouse upon return to the office.\nKnowledge of TRANSCOM requirements, rules and regulations\nAll other duties and projects assigned.\n\nWhat You Bring:\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nValid Class D driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.\nMinimum of 6 months of experience driving a box truck required.\nPrior military packing experience highly preferred; training may be provided for candidates without this experience.\nValid government-issued ID required to access military bases or other secured facilities.\nAbility to lift at least 75 lbs.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card).\nAbility to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, including marijuana, and background check.\nAbility to read and write in English and understand traffic signs and controls in accordance with FHWA regulations.\nAbility to accurately complete required paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with management, customers, dispatch, and the general public, including by phone or radio.\nAbility to solve practical problems and professionally manage a variety of traffic, job-site, and customer situations.\n\nBenefits:\nWe offer a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package, including:\n• A choice of medical plans with FSA and HSA options• Dental Insurance• Vision Insurance• Company-paid Life and Disability Insurance• 401(k) Plan with Company Match• Paid Time Off (PTO) and Company Holidays• Employee Assistance Program• Company Health & Wellness Program• Discounts with Preferred Vendors\n At Odyssey, we believe the best ideas come from people with different skills, experiences, and perspectives.
