This development role will be responsible for developing and implementing Java/J2EE applications and implementing APIs/Microservices in AWS cloud.\n\nResponsibilities: \nCollaborates with product team members (UX, architects, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.\nWrites custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, test cases, and to do destructive testing to ensure adequate resiliency in production\nIdentifies unsecured code areas and implements fixes as they are discovered with or without tooling.\nIdentifies, implements, and shares technical solutions that can be used across the portfolio.\nIdentifies product enhancements to create a better experience for the end users.\nResearches and/or investigates technical issues impacting the organisation and recommends solutions.\nProvides application support for software running in production.\nProactively reviews the Performance and Capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processing.\nTriages high-priority issues and outages as they arise.\nParticipates in learning activities around agile software development and development core practices, and mentors other team members in these best practices.\nDesigns and builds scalable, resilient solutions with strong coverage for edge cases and failure scenarios.\n\nRequirements: \nExperienced in full-stack cloud-native development, RESTful APIs, and stateless microservices architectures.\nAt least 5 years of experience with Java 8/J2EE and the Spring framework.\nExperience in designing and implementing RESTful services using XML/JSON.\nStrong AWS experience with a background in API and microservices development.\nExperience with core AWS services like Lambda, S3 SQS, SNS, EC2 CodePipeline, Athena, DynamoDB, RDS.\nStrong understanding of core AWS services and applying best practices regarding security and scalability.\nUse AI-driven log analysis, anomaly detection, and observability tools to identify defects and performance issues early.\nCreate reusable AI prompt templates and development patterns for consistent, scalable workflows\nExposure to GenAI tools and platforms, including Amazon Q Developer and AWS Kiro, to enhance SDLC processes and improve engineering productivity.\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and documentation workflows.\nStrong awareness of emerging GenAI trends such as AI Agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and evolving enterprise AI ecosystems.\nAbility to apply AI-driven solutions to streamline the development lifecycle, optimise efficiency, and improve product delivery outcomes.\nActively participate in Agile ceremonies and promote engineering excellence and best practices within the team.\nStrong understanding of networking fundamentals and virtual networks from a cloud point of view.\nKnowledge and/or experience in working with 12-factor methodology and understanding its benefits, and able to demonstrate appropriate patterns to other team members.\nAble to independently create and maintain automation test jobs and execute as part of a CI/CD pipeline.\nExperience working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks such as SCRUM, SAFe, XP, etc.\nKnowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices, with tools such as Git/Gitlab, Jira/VersionOne/Agility, Jenkins/Tekton, Gradle, Ansible.\nKnowledge and/or experience with messaging solutions such as ActiveMQ or Kafka.\nAbility to clearly communicate and coordinate with peers, product owners, and cross-functional teams and design a relevant and time-to-market solution.\nMust have the ability to listen to customers and colleagues;
