Whether you're advancing national security, driving innovation in nuclear infrastructure, or supporting critical DOE and DoD operations, you’re part of something bigger here.\nOverview\nOmega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer 3 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM.\nSupervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project. Demonstrates technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.\nResponsibilities\nDuties:\nCoordinate security and infrastructure design interfaces, aligning MEP, structural, network architectures, and specialized physical/electronic security sub-systems.\nUtilize Aproove to manage collaborative online proofing, ensuring all security layout, structures, communication, site work and other associated construction drawings, schematics, and design iterations undergo rigorous review and approval.\nConduct strict constructability reviews targeting high-security requirements, physical barriers, access control layouts, and critical utility pathing.\nDrive efficient engineering solutions that optimize infrastructure longevity and physical security profiles without compromising project budgets or contract compliance.\nLead combined Project Engineer and Field Engineer functions, Serve as the accountable engineering point of contact for assigned scope, maintaining the technical path forward and integrating decisions across the project.\nIntegrate multidisciplinary design work across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, network, security, and facility-system interfaces.\nLead engineering coordination with designers of record, construction subcontractors, facility operations, safety, security, quality, and other project stakeholders.\nManage engineering changes and technical-resolution processes, including Field Change Requests, Design Revision Notices, Requests for Information, nonconformance dispositions, design clarifications, constructability reviews, and field-change evaluations.\nManage technical document control, submittals, and RFIs directly from the job site using ProjectSight to maintain a single, real-time source of truth.\nPerform cost engineering and progress tracking via Delta, evaluating subcontractor change orders, managing cost projections, and maintaining strict commercial compliance.\nProvide technical resolution for complex field conflicts, ensuring that changes to infrastructure do not breach security design intent.\nTrack critical scheduling milestones using Microsoft Office tools, optimizing sequencing for high-security component handoffs and site testing.\nEnforce comprehensive quality control metrics, conducting routine field inspections to verify that installations meet infrastructure structural specs and security classifications.\nMentor and provide guidance to junior engineers on-site, fostering technical mastery in infrastructure delivery and security compliance.\nEvaluate design outputs and construction activities for code compliance, quality requirements, configuration management, safety interfaces, security impacts, and applicable engineering procedures.\nIdentify technical, schedule, construction, and interface risks; develop practical resolution paths; and elevate matters requiring management or stakeholder decisions.\nMaintain project-level visibility of engineering deliverables, reviews, approvals, commitments, and critical-path actions supporting construction execution and major milestones.\nSupport commissioning, turnover, closeout, and records completion to achieve a compliant transition of completed work to the customer.\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline / equivalent experience.\nQualifications\nCandidate must be a U.S. Citizen. \nSatisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check. \nCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.\n10+ years of project engineering experience specifically focused on commercial infrastructure, civil works, or high-security/government-adjacent facilities. \nHands-on, proficient experience with ProjectSight or equivalent (project management), Delta (cost/financial tracking), Aproove or equivalent (proofing/design review), and the Microsoft Office Suite.\nExceptional attention to detail regarding physical layout compliance, strict document control, and clear communication under tight project deadlines. \nProven ability to make sound technical decisions;
